im a complete n00b,plz use the simplest language u guys can. i have an MTNL 590NU plan as of now, but i m really angry :angry: with the billingwhat is usage charge that i get in the bill??? 120, 314, 520 etcand most of the users have posted that u should switch on the router bfore 12 am and switch off bfore 8 am, im confused with this,u mean turn on the power of the router???? or something else.plz elaborate it.
 
Ok..First yours is a night unlimited plan. An I believe the day limit is 1 GB(not sure). IN other words ..its only between 12 AM & 8 AM that you can browse as much as you can . During the day (i.e) 8 AM to 12 AM , the limit for month is 1 GB...If you exceed that you will be charged which is what the 120, 314, 520 etcmust be. Secondly, about the router or modem being switched on or off - they expect you switch off the modem & then again switch it on , during the change over from Night inlimited to daytime limited mode & vice versa - why its needed i have no clue - maybe the network geeks & other knowledgable people in this forum can tell you
 
thnx for contributing ur time mhsabir.most of the time my download limit does not exceed more than 1GB then to i get tis usage charge shit.next bout the router you mean to say that, i have to switch off the router at 11.55pm (if im surfing before 12) and switch on the router at 12.10 am and switch off whenever i want.ORi have to switch on the router (if im not surfing before 12) at around 12.10 am and switch off till i drop.u mean to say this.
 
Hmm..If your usage is less than 1 GB then you had better check up at with them about it. Some of it could be the service tax, but i think it would be best if u ask them. Is there anyway you can check your usage online - if so then you can do that. About the router. What I think it basically means is that it should go into off mode after 12:00 AM even if it is for a secondSo , if u switched on at 11:55 PM, switch it off at 12:05 am and switch on & if u switched directly at 12:05 AM, let it beAnd same steps at around 8:00 AM
 
Also remember to change ur default password which is accessible to everyone (printed on bill)
 
I'm planning to go for this plan.I was told my total charges, assuming I limit my day downloads, will be Rs700 approx- including the rent, modem rent , tax...
