There's some problem in mtnl network today since morning just not been able to connect at all. I checked my validity and they showed it it till 24/06/14. I recharged it on 21st April. It'll be good for me if I'm able to use unlimited internet till 24th June. But why the error??

Network is fine. Must be local bts issue. If it still isn't working, lodge a complaint using the link in my signature.

Lodged a complaint. Issue not resolved yet. No network signal for 4 days. Tomorrow should be the last of my validity. But the validity is shown till 24 the June. I recharged on 21st April..

It's available for 1199 now, again promo for 3 months. Looks like MTNL is doing some price finding to maximize profits.

Duh! MTNL Mumbai is going the wrong way. Instead of bringing the rates down, they are increasing it. Wondering if someone who bought @999 would now want to buy @1199? Looking at the competition they shud have lowered the rates considering their outdated ~3mbps max connection(assuming u were living under the cell towers else even lesser speeds).

PS: MTNL is plotting against me to keep using their Wired BB @2mbps @9xx and not to switch to 3G how much ever I might want to 😛issed-off: . You already lost 1 customer MTNL.

MTNL 3g is very good for roaming customers like me who cant get a decent wired connection.however Unlimited 3g @ 750/- would be a sweet spot just like BSNL evdo unlimited. :tasty:

@x720: It means that there is so much competition in ISPs who are giving good speeds like 5, 10, 20+ mbps (on wired & wireless. So what if there is FUP) at this 1xxx+-2000 range that 1199rs is ridiculously high figure for an old technology ~2mbps connection that MTNL stands no chance to attract more customers for such low speeds. People are already using excellent plans from Tata, reliance, even BSNL and some ISPs also provide wireless services(tikona maybe others too) thus MTNL is fighting a loosing battle. It can charge such price ONLY IF it increases the speeds else it is a duh! offer.

I meant to say that there is hardly any competition on the wireless 3G front tariff wise. Plans from others operators are deplorable. Speeds are another issue.
Wired is, again, a different ball game. Though, you're right, offers like these, seem like poor attempts to compete with wired players.

I said, "despite being an unlimited plan, it expired before 30 days". Vidyut can explain to you even better. Vidyut helped me out when first time my data expired. Directly call Mr. Varghese on 022-26541143. He'll replenish your pack.
I have recharged with 999 and used up my 150 GB in 14 days. Then I called up customer care and got another 100 GB which got used up in next 8 days. I again called up customer care and now they are unable to understand my situation (to add more data).
Tried calling up Varghese, no one picking @ this number. Any help?

Ideally, they should have system in place when the data limit reaches 149.5 GB, then it should automatically add 150 GB. Not at all a complex program/logic, but the only reason I believe this is NOT implemented is to stop people from MIS-using (as per their defination) which is really NOT misusing since the plan promices unlimited, and that is what we should get.
Also, 'UNLIMITED' is a generic term, theoratically it means infinite but they have a practical hard coded number = 150. It should be at-least 500 GB 😀
