i used to hear good things about AirTel...so when the friendly AirTel guy came to my place and said my area is finally connected, i jumped to it and paid him the installation fee (256 home 999). the chap was very friendly and promised me the connection in 3 days (max 7-10). that was sometime in the mid of december. thats it. he dissapeared and theres no sign of him nor any airtel people. he even gave me my landline number instantly. i keep calling him every 2 days or so and he keeps giving me shyt like 'sorry sir...we dont have digging permission to lay cables' or 'sorry theres some technical problems...it might take another few weeks...' !! the sly smooth-talking moth!@@!!#king con bas*@!#d  !! i woulda screwed his life...but i need that connection, so i'm just being patient ! after going thru this forum...i'm thinking the delay may be cause they're coming up with new plans or something like that....keeping my fingers crossed and hoping i get a new-plan 2MB UL connection from AirTel for 999 !! 😀

installation delays is nothing to do with new plans mate. so well...

where do u stay ??.....coz this is the first time i've heard such a thing ....that too frm airtel 😱

Dear nibGetting Airtel connection is really worth, for me it took 13 days. I am sure the delay may not be on the Airtel people; getting permission from the corporation could take days; locate Airtel DB near to your premise so that they can able to share with you and the process gets completed quickly.

Your biggest mistake is that you keep calling this local guy up. Call up Airtel Customer Care, and he will respond quickly. I hope you got some kind of documentation or receipt from Airtel. If so, tell them that you will pursue legal options if they do not give you the connection in the stipulated period or completely refund your money within that same period.

ya i din notice that part....i thought u were talkin to the cc, vebmetal's right register a complaint it'll be attended to sooner than u expect 🙂

In Chennai, my friend faced a similar probem a couple of years ago and after waiting for about 5-6 weeks, he went for Tata Indicom, but since then Airtel has improved a lot - also the reason is that they are more aggressive in marketing than getting permissions to dig and all. Moreover, on a personal level, I feel, if they find not too many people in your area are going to take the connection - they may decide to hold back for a while.

Dude Nip, you must have some kind of a reference number in the application form. Quote that to the Airtel CC and register a complaint

nonsense...i think they'll take a LONG time. Trust me. I'm waiting for almost 2 years now...hehehehe....😛
