British Education Communications and Technology Association tell schools to avoid Vista for the time being
the British Education Communications and Technology Association (BECTA) has said in a statement that the software giant Microsoft has to make a stronger case to prove that the Vista operating system and the Office 2007 packages are worth upgrading to for [...]

Remember XP was supposed to be their most secure OS until a few service packs were released.

I'm sure Microsoft is soon going to do away with support for Service Pack 2, like it did for the SP1. After Microsoft starts forcing me to upgarde to Vista (which is inevitable), I'm going to shift completely to Linux (Ubuntu, that is).

They release everything saying its their best offering. But then flaws come out like there is no stopping them. New OS from Microsoft means new security flaws. Anyways check out http://www.badvista.org . Not campaigning or anything but Linux increasingly seems a better option. Check out - sabayonlinux.org

microsoft forces u to upgrade to vista? how can they do that?[/b]

By finishing support for earlier versions like XP. Then there will be DirectX 10, which wouldn't be supprted in XP. No security upgardes, no multimedia support, whta do you call it? I call it forced upgradation.

ur current xp installation won't stop working right?everything that works NOW won't stop working after Vista launches right?so how is it FORCED upgradation?you want something new, they want you to get the new OS. as simple as that. from what i know, if you can work on Dos OS today, Dos OS would work alright even now. no one forces you to do anything. its you who want to exploit the features of the NEW OS that's why you need the new OS.
