lol. i am storing both images on s3 now. because i have lost a LOT OF images over the years because of services shutting down or my own mistake stupidity. so both are ok with me. but i would personally prefer to have memes and shitpostings hotlinked. and actual relevant images uploaded. s3 storage is cheap but bandwidth is an issue. i am already close to the point where getting block storage on DO would be cheaper than keep using s3.

so... i turned on google auto-ads last night to see if it brings any improvement to ad revenue. this also means that google ends up inserting ads at weird places and sometimes too many on a page. if anyone is still browsing the forum without an ad blocker, feel free to pm me and i would disable ads on their account.

Lol. Living in India and dealing with cryptocurrency doesn't exactly go hand in hand.

Profiting from the content of web publishers by replacing ads with their own. Hiding their user agent from websites. Pretending that their own bat platform can replace traditional ads by enabling a profit sharing interface where readers also make money without supporting all countries on the planet. Plus the company is founded by an homophobe asshole.

Honestly speaking, any tech platform that modifies content of websites without publisher consent is nasty in its own way.

Oh I didn't know about the founder being a homophobe. But i think it's a nice concept though, their plan is to make reward structure as 70% goes to publishers, 15% to users and 15% to brave. Most people who use adblock do it because they're annoyed by ads and in turn publishers gain nothing. Compared to that, this is a better thing but I do see your point.

It would be great to have a chatbox, where forum members can talk in more informal way than required by forum post where meandering to offtopic is not helpful.

have had it in the past. only creates nuisance. use groups on telegram or whatsapp instead.

Was it open to all, or member who satisfy certain criteria only(post count > xxx, member since x months,etc..) ?

long time ago. forum was popular back then. it did not add any value to the platform. only created more maintenance headaches for me. since there is no official component, i would have to rely on third party product which would cost money and well would have to be kept updated. overall, it's better that people with similar interest just move their conversation to their own choice of private messaging platform.
