Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me in-case I make some mistake.
Before I used live in HAL area where all the broadbands were available and i had BSNL with the 750 plan, I was quite satisfied with it.
Recently, I moved to a new area, AECS Layout Block B,Singhasandra,Bangalore-68(Check it out on G-maps).... Well the first shocker was that in this area there is no company which provides internet till date(Not even BSNL :nonchalance: )
So i had to out of my way and buy BSNL 3G and Relance Netconnect... Both give good speed(Full signal for both), with 5 GB limit...
Recently I came to know about BSNL evdo from their site and it says its truely unlimited(YES, I'm fed up with the 5 GB limit, since if actually enter something like YouTube, Poof! 5 GB's Gone in 3 Days)
So here are my Queries:
1.I get full signal strength in BSNL 3G and speed ranging from 5-7.1 Mbps i.e 500-710 KBps download speed(My device itself can handle max of 7.2 Mbps)... So will I be getting the same signal strength and download speed? (i.e 1-3 Mbps-Since evdo gives max of 3.1 Mbps)
2.Any router you suggest that i can put the sim into and it gives me wifi directly?
3.How do i test BSNL EVDO without spending much money?
Thank You guys so much in advance.. Pls. reply fast... I also need time to convience my parents to buy EVDO again... Also it would be nice if you could pm me some ISP that provides internet in this area 😛leasantry:

Bsnl 3g is GSM technology and EVDO is CDMA old school technology.Hence getting full 3g signals doesnt guarentee you evdo signals unless you have EVDO BTS towers nearby (1-3 km radius i guess).2.signal by itself doesnt guarentee full speed..some areas are equipped only upto max of 2.4mbps and some 3.1.You cannot expect getting stable speeds.Like for me 800kbps-1.2mbps is guarenteed almost 24*7 and inbetween I get upto 2.4mbps for some hours.Im using evdo since late december and am still figuring why it is like this,But most people say speeds depend on your distance from tower,no of evdo users in ur locality, signal strength etc, also i read many people telling they get 1.8-2.4mbps from 11pm onwards upto morning. But as far as my experience goes, speeds never remain stable, but at an average i get about 124-160 kb/sec mostly and very rarely it is 180-230.Average as in aggregated for my total time of connection ,like say 1 hours or 3hours.Just getting 2.3mbps for 2 minutes isnt what im talking about.I get 3 signal bars out of 5 and it keeps flucating between 3 and 4.
