I have been experiencing a new problem lately. The problem is that even if i download the BBClient file from Sify's SAM server I get average speeds of 10 KBPS while earlier i used to get around 150-200 KBPS(KiloBytesPerSecond) while logged outBut If I ping my local gateway even with a load of 1470 bytes i dont get a single timeout Due to above problem i am getting very slow speeds on my 256 kbps 1GB ltd pack (around 5-6 KBPS)What could be the problem....?????Cud the

U got that speed from the SAM to ur computer or on the internet?

Well i took sify pack of unlimited 48kbps and officially they says 48 kbps but in actual they give more than 1mbps.. because all lines are from same cable.. that means the cafe's with commercial lines also use the same cable...but there is just one question that bothers me.. on what basis do they deduct the amount from balance... and how does the 150 mb limit work.. once i downloaded around 300MB but not even one rupee was deducted...

What crap. No one gets 1 mbps on their 48 pack except a few for some short durations of time when Sify's bandwidth control s/w or something is acting up.

But we do definitely get around 100 kbps on our 48 pack on a sustained basis.

Maybe you aren't logged out afterall. Sometimes when I forget to log out and download anything from the SAM server, I too get dismayed at seeing such low speeds and then I remember that I forgot to log out.

The speed mentioned on your pack doesn't count for anything unless you login 😉.

maybe u r right...
2 weeks is a short duration.. while downloading i have got maximum 150 kBps mind u this B = Bytes...

u should see my print screen when i downloaded 78 mb video song

Have u been getting this 150 KBps speed consistently or was it just a burstAnd is donot think so that ur internet connection will work if u r not logged in (even if u switch off the client but donot logout from sam server u donot get that damm speed.)

Yeah, some other members here had also reported getting such high speeds for around 2 weeks. Seems Sify servers were suffering from a glitch during those times. Even I myself have occasionally got 128 kbps and at other times 256 kbps (never 1 mbps) on earlier 32 and now 48 packs. It's by fluke we get this 😛.

What is the benefit of getting such high speed when your validity gets reduced ?I got speeds upto 4.6 Mbps on sify yesterday. Consequently i downloaded about 1.5 GB. And today what do i find? - My validity has been reduced by 7 days on the 64 Kbps unltd. pack. Can't understand how they make the crappy calculations. If they were applying the 150 MB/day rule then, the validity should have been reduced by 10 days.

According to my calculations..the 150 mb limit is not exactly 150 mb.. sometimes its applied after 200 mb and if thats possible the sify people might even apply it after 100 MB... its the system and its faulty..the 150 mb limit can be easily cheated but i cant speak on it.. last time i started this my post was closed by saurav... well i think its time the moderators tell us how the 150 mb limit work..

I think limit is 299.9 mb  .. Bcz they say one day is reduced for every extra 150 mb .( not below that) ........ So if u dlaod 299.9 mb .. then u dloaded 149.9 mb extra 😛 . SO u can fire them on phone if they deduct ur day

I think 150 mb is not the max download limit per day.I checked out the sify website.they have indicated that if the download crosses 150 mb then for every additional 25 mb there will be a reduce in 1 days usage in that calendar.so I think there is no harm in downloading 174.99 mb per day 😀 By the by I have a new problem with this sify.I had been using the sify unlimted 64 kbps pack for nearly a year.things went on smooth n well until the beginning of this month when i got a call from the sify operator asking me to renew the pack.they begged us telling that they have reduced their prices.I was using the sify unlimited 64kbps pack which costed around 1295 for 2 months. Now they tempted me telling they have reduced their pack rates from 1295 to 945.When I asked whether this pack is 64 unlimted the reply was yes. After renewal i found a different code for this pack.(The old pack had the code something like AXU....where as this one is QAU2).With the old pack when I downloaded some file I had a max n constant speed of around 11kbps....Now I just get around 7.5 sometimes 6,sometimes even 2 and 1kbps and worse than that.really dont know whats going on.R there people trying to make a fool of us by reducing the cost as well as the speed to a deadly extent? Now when i download an attachment from mail it takes thrice the time to download when compared to the previous pack which i was using earlier.Any idea?anyone got the same problem? Is this due to technical problem or is this gonna be a permanent issue? 🤔

the limit is 225 mb and I have tested it for quite some while to deduce this conclusion ;-) trust me stay a little below this limit and you'll be safe

nope its 150 mb only during the day timeno need playing with it and risk loosing a dayalways be on ur safe side
