himy problem is i live in remote area, we have a bsnl broadband connection but after a power failure (we are having some ups problems) the modem is unable to reconnect to the service. The link LED remains green after the modem starts up again. currently using manual pppoe connection tried automatic but settings changed back after another power loss. Called local exchange they say service is fine as they are unaffected by power cuts. they suggest restarting everything but again this doesnt work. ppoe dialer just hangs on connecting through wan miniport.any help would be greatAshok

Hey I have the very same problem, only difference is my link Led is off, please let me know if you have got any soultion, I am badly in need of help.Inspite of all this I live in Bangalore🙁

Check diagnostics page . open 192.168.1.1/main.html After power failure/restoration Start modem first. then after sometime the computer. start run type cmd type ipconfig/allstore the data when everything is fine.

Hi Guys, Yesterday , while I was surfing, at around 11PM, my browser refused to handle any requests. I deliberately disconnected and was not able to reconnect. It says server not responding. Although my connectivity with my router seemed to be fine. The link light was also glowing on the router( means it is able to find the link) but still I was still not able to connect to my account. Any ideas if airtel was down(or is down ATM) at that time. I live in Noida and have 1499UL connection. I have not checked this morning ( I am writing from office) as lights went out in my area and is still not back.

@firearm: friend,i think i had the same problem 2 weeks ago. all of a sudden,the browser became non responsive no prob with the DSL lamp too.. my problem was resolved after a week only.. do u use it in bridge mode or router mode?? check the 192.168.1.1 page,check for WAN summary.. if it shows PPP link down,its got to be a prob at the exchange.. in my case the exchange guys changed one of the ports there,it became allright..since then no problems..

I am using in bridge mode. I had checked in my route homepage, it shows nothing wrong in logs ADSL link is showing up.

@firearm12
1.open 192.168.1.1/main.html
Advanced Diagnostics.
2. Start run type cmd type ping 192.168..1.1
3.......................................ping Google
4.......................................ipconfig/all
5.......................................tracert Google

Para two : in TCP/IP properties use open dns 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220
Para three: Have a Netone dial up connection as standby.

I am not able to establish the PPPoe connection through the vitual adapter. Whenever i click connect, it says server not responding( it hangs on "connecting through PPPoe"). The link is up on the router and I am able to ping my router.
