So that means Airtel will also have to provide 2Mbps for existing prices?

i am pretty sure it's just a recommendation not a mandatory requirement.

Guys, I think what happened in the Mobile space will happen in the ISP space. We will see something like a IndiaOne plan for ISPs but, other plans will also be available.I am more interested in the Unlimited download plans.I would agree that 2MB Unlimited plan is a long time into the future.

Do not expect or even believe in 2 Mbps unlimited, till its formally launched by MTNL.Current 2 Mbps plans are with a catch. If you are on 2 Mbps with cap on download limits, you are tempted to surf all the more with big money going to the ISP's kitty of course.

Of course, the motto was that.. More SpeedSurf More.Drain your pack soon. Get a new one.Actually speaking 2mbit is the bandwidth you'd use if your computer transfers 0.25 MegaBYTE/second or 1MB for every four secs all the month.

lol Obviously that'd drain their entire bandwidth out from their backbone provider.. Ok let me explain..You can download 1MB on a 256kbps in 30secs [app.] um Do that 24/7 one month.. You can download 2GB a day [app. again] A month it comes around 60 gigs and just think how many users are out there.. and an 100mbit line can push at the max only 22TBs. I bet BSNL/MTNL is on gigabit lines well this will drain their b/w out and they'll die out. Hence, they don't upgrade UL users.

Thats the worse case scenario. Besides, MTNL / BSNL pays the same rate for the international bandwidth irrespective of whether the line sees a traffic of 1GB or 22TB 😛

oh people download insane amount of stuff. those people are the people who are seeders on all the big networks.
