Hi guys, yet another mischief from airtel now. They have capped 3G speeds to 2mbps from past 10 days. Just wanted to confirm if they have done with others users as we'll. pls revert

Probably yes. I just ran speedtest and got just 0.7Mbps download and 1.36Mbps upload

Seems like speed restriction is done for blore customers. This is done in view of voice over 4g launch. So that people feel the speed crunch and move to 4g

Old trick.Increased prices of 2G so that people move to 3GNow decreased the speed of 3G so that people move to 4G 😛

^^^ ... and after 2 years on 6G on same mobiles 😀
Speed Cap could be because their resources getting exhausted with more number of subscribers.

Even in Chennai for the past 15 days they had reduced the speed i had complained to the CC ...Let see how it works..

nothing will happen to your complaint, they will just say" sir, 2mbps is the best speed you can get on 3G, it is shared bandwidth sir" and they refused to take complaint on this issue. my argument went to deaf ears as they are half knowledged and half minded people are rather useless

This is the reply i got from Airtel after my complaint about reduce of 3G speed....

They we will be wipped out if they continue to ignore the customer's genuine complaints....

i had bought Nokia x and airtel is providing 500mb 3g for 3months.. but i dont want to put an airtel sim into my phone because
1. it takes 72hours to activate
2.call rates are damn expensive
3.3g is capped
4.airtel is turning out to be like a govt organistaion 3rd class customer satisfaction
and out of my previous exp.. the headache i had to go thru when i wanted to disconnect my postpaid number!

aircel is providing less coverage but better speeds in my area.
