2 Connections On One Pc!

umm..i have two 256 KBPS connections at office....each for 2 PC...1 PC has gone to be repaired...so i was just testing tht if i can use my 2nd connection's ID on my 1st PC ...i have attached a USB cable and also a common phone cable with modem & CPU.....i tried to use both ID on one PC using VMWare..and it worked! so i can get 512 KBPS ( 2x256 kbps ) speed on one PC!! but without VMWare on one system its not working..its saying tht "Modem already in use" but one cable must be free...caz either it use common phone cable ( 100 MBps ) or USB cable ( 10 MBps )....then y we cant use 2nd line to use 2nd ID on pc?

Amit: I wqant to do the same thing as you have done. I have a 900 UL Plus @ 256 kbps connection. My frriend has a Home 500 connecction which has speeds up to 2 mbps . My friend also also has night unlimited downloads. I want to share my friend's connecctiion in the night so that I can get download speeds of upto 2 mbps which my present plan does not provide. Could you tell me if I can access my friend's DatOne account from my phone one line in the night using VMWare? Could you please provide me with more details on how its done?

AFAIK, you'll need 2 LAN cards... I mean you can dial two connections simultaneously in RASPPPOE with 2 NICs... don't know about ADSL!

i have tried RASPPPOE too...and i can establish 2 connections on 1 PC with it...also have Route Sentry installed...which manages speed for 2 connections..but the problem is that when i get connected to 2 connections at same time....1 connection always stay as idle....only 1 of them is being used to surf internet......this is the problem..

have u guys tried this???

Guys do you configure the router/adsl modem to work in the Bridge mode or the PPPOE mode in order to establish two broadband connections from the same PC using VM Ware? Can Microsoft Virtual PC be used in place oF VM Ware?rational

its in bridge mode already....as i told.. I ALSO ESTABLISHED 2 CONNECTIONS ON 1 PC using RASPPPOE...but 1 connection remains idle..it is not being used when i surf on internet
