I need help buying a modem+router
a) Need good range
b ) Needs to work with multiple ISPs - I have Tata, BSNL as mandatory as I have BSNL & I am getting Docomo atleast to test the waters. Preferably should work with Airtel also as I might going back to them at some point.
Considering buying this. Any suggestions or better options.
Can extend budget for the right device

Looks like it would be a good idea to have threads for more individual popular routers. Someone give me a list? 😀

^So which ISP have you used it with.
Flipkart reviewers mentioned MTNL & BSNL. So BSNL is covered based on their advice. What about the other two.
Also range is a thing I am looking at. Would be relocating shortly to a nearby place and would need it to work in two storeys (ground & 1st floor)

mtnl , the installation software on the CD is pre-configured for all indian major ISPs, you just have to choose your ISP during installation . It will be fine for two storeys .

CD - Thats a bit tricky.. Because none of my CD drives are working (Shows me an indication of how much I have moved from that medium). Guess will have to get someone else's laptop or see online for an alternate solution if I go for this device.

Ordered via link above on Amazon on 25th evening, was delivered on 27th evening. Called up Tata guys today who arrived around 11 and after close an hour of fiddling managed to set it up.
So Test mode of Tata begins

It is purely on trial mode. I will be shifting my place nearby & will continue the trial for a few days. If it is good, will remove broadband from BSNL & will use as incoming landline like before. In any case, intend to have BSNL as a fallback connection for a while.

I think higher transfer speed in wireless 150 v 300 - but yeah how much difference it makes in realtime - I dont know...

If it does NOT come with the 'Wifi-Certified' logo on the box, then you might see 300mbps.If it does come with the 'Wifi-Certified' logo on the box, & a neighbour utilizes an adjacent wifi channel, you will not see 300mbps, because a 'Wifi-Certified' device will throttle back to 150mbps.
