Hi Guys,

My plan is a combo 550 ( 512Kbps during the day and 1Mbps post 1800hrs). NOW.... My Sterlike Ax300 DSL GUI page says Down 2048Kbps! And MANY a times when i am downloading an app on my Android phone, I see the app downloading at 150KB/s where as my PC is downloading file at 60KB/s (KILOBYTE not Bit).

Is there any tweak that can be done to utilize 2048kbps ??

Any help would be great. Thanks

Your modem sync rate does not necessarily reflect the speed at which you are synced at your ISP. My modem is always synced at 2304 kbps but I get 512 kbps during the day and 2304 kbps during the night.
Regarding Android, it shows higher speeds for me too. It could either be due to local peering or something else. When I am at 2 mbps, apps from the play store 'seem to' download at ~400 kBps

The line sync rate is the maximum download which your line can sustain. Your plans says 512 / 1024 which is what you have opted with your service provider. You on your current line conditions can upgrade your plan to a max of 2Mbps.
It's like a highway whose speed limit is 200 kmph but your car is fitted with a speed governor of 50kmph. Road is your ADSL line and Car is your username / password.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, I thought the same. But how would you explain the android apps downloading at 150Kbps while my PC is downloading at 60?
Thanks again.

How did you have your downstream sync at 2304. Even I want to know the secret 🙂
