Does anyone is using a Router for this Vibrant internet service? I recently got a connection but for configuring a router they are charging 300 bucks which is insane and they are trying to make a profit out of it. I don't know why they are charging a heavy amount for this. If anyone had a router configured, could you share the settings of it?
Thank you,
Karthik

Aneesh,
I'm using Netgear JWNR2000v2 router. Could you please share your settings?.
I have tried with PPPoE, but that doesn't work.

Hi All, I have gone through this thread. I'm a residing at Medavakkam (moved there just 2 months back and ended up knowing that no lines are available for BSNL and Airtel there recently). Vibrant Net ad caught my eye which was there at my apartment gate. I called up the guy and he said 10GB at 1 MBPS for Rs.674 and 20GB at 2 MBPS for Rs.1174. But the next crazy thing was, He said Rs.2000 for initial deposit and Rs.1000 for installation. Total cost is Rs.4174!!! (For 20GB plan I preferred). I am confused whether this ISP is worth??? Or can I go ahead with Airtel or Vodafone 3G Dongle which anyways gonna cost the same for me. Pls advise.

Dear all,
I am using Vibrantnet for the past 3 months. I would say the speed is good and lesser downtime until now.

But I faced a major problem 2 times, when I tried to book IRCTC ticket @8 AM. The message is "You are permitted only 2 ARP Tickets between 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM per IP Address". This message is surprising and shocking as I have not booked any tickets at all. Is it because we are using Vibrantnet cable connection? or is it a bug in IRCTC or some type of hacking or it will be same problem for any ISP similar to Vibrantnet?

Whether only 2 users of Vibrantnet are permitted to book normal tickets between 8AM to 10AM and I guess, it will be the same for 2 Tatkal tickets between 10AM to 12Noon. I guess, this happens only when we are booking on 60days advance booking, but now sure.

Please, let me know, if any of you have faced this type of problem & share your experience how to resolve this error from occuring in future.

Regards
Velu

I suspect they have a much smaller range of IPs to assign and hence you got assigned an IP that someone else used a few minutes ago and freed up.

Would suggest getting connected to the network prior to 10 and staying connected to that IP till you book is the only way to avoid this problem

I remember facing this problem once in BSNL

Hello mhsabir,

Thank you for your reply.

Dear all,

Any of you faced such problem on IP address issue over booking IRCTC tickets? Any other solution?
So, here the concept may be Multiple user in one single IP and this is really a big problem.

@Vibrant users: Please share, if you have faced any such issues? So, I guess, we should only ask Vibrantnet to solve this issue as they are supposed to give each a separate static IP?

ISPs charge additionally for static IPs normally. Also two users will not have the same IP at the same time. Its only if someone else is assigned an IP and after booking they disconnect and then the second person connects and is assigned the same IP, then its a problem.

As a workaround, you can connect to ISP well in advance or simply disconnect and reconnect if you get that error.

I doubt Vibrant will be able to much about it as giving static IPs to all may simply not be feasible

I had my worst experience with Vibrant net recently. Did not have internet connection for 1 month ! and they collect it as pre-paid. My sincere advice is not to go with Vibrant net. They are focusing on increasing the customer base and not on the internet speed, reliability etc. I took the option of 1MBPS speed for 850 bucks and never I got 1 MBPS speed and during weekends its pathetic. it drops to 0.1 mbps and there will be frequent connectivity drops 🙁 . I had to call several times and they flatly accept that bandwidth is a issue and they cant do anything. Seriously worst experience with them ever

Hi I live in Chitlapakkam near VIOLET school MMDA nagar but I don't know which broadband to go for.... Tikona is not available here..... Which is the best option for me....
