Certainly, i guess the key question is *how much data*, just browsing to the top he says 4GB!!!Heh, for that amount, there are many solutions and then i don't have much issue with the ones posted above. But i feel they are not scalable past a few tens of GBs.I decided a while ago, to put all digital data that mattered in one place and just sync the whole lot up periodically.

Yaa online backup wont work (at least not in this price range) for for things like 40 GB....For that you will need to pay $25 per month instead of a year. And you will need to wait for 5 - 6 days for restore if things go bad.

Hi VebMetal/Group,
You might want to try out AMD Live: http://amd.streamload.com/
They give away 25GB for free. Yes you read it right 25 Giga Bytes of storage for free. Every since i became a member of this site, i am fascinated by their storage space offerings. They have good support with Internet Explorer. The Upload speed is also good.
Let me know if you need more info.

^ Seems pretty good though there is a 1 GB download limit. Which means that in case I lose my photos, it will take me 4 months to download whatever photos I have right now!!! But the FREE part is quite enticing! 🙂On second thought, I suppose I could always upload the pics, and in the unlikely event that I need to download them all, I could always pay $4.95 for that month to up the download limit to 10GB and then come back to the free account... hmmm....

yeap i read abt the gig limit on digg long time back... u can always get an account on dreamhost and use their ftp... most web hosting companies would be happy to give u cheap package which does not include any control panel. just plain ftp...

Quite natural, If they are giving some free services (I think) they will attach some limitations to it.

I use it as the backup for my photos on the internet. I anyway have free my HDD on my home pc for storing these photos primarily. I have never explored yet their upload tools. I don't know whether they have ftp based upload/download features.
If you know better service, Please share it in this thread
