just tell your CTO that you want another pack, rather than asking for a new id...he should give u that...
I'd like to help, really but when I called customercare the guy who answered could not understand I already was a customer or was just trying to loot more and said I would have to pay 2000 as installation again whaen what I wanted was just what you described in the first post.
Hi Ajay,u can create the ID urself only but u wud need Temp ID n password....which u can try to get from ur CTO, coz account renewals can also be done thru temp id n password..so may be u can tell him u wanna renew account urself only so u need temp id n password....and if he is still apprehensive...juz call the customer care n blast them...btw i have two ids too n my CTO had absolutely no probs in providing me that..no charges ..nuthingi guess i m lucky :lol:
Hi All,I am new to broadband & I want to know how broadband works in India. I have some queries:1) Does the broadband connection come with a modem from the provider?2) Do we get a id & password to set up a account for the first time?3) Once the account is set up do I need to always login with my id & password or is it like the connection come on whenever I boot my PC?I have used braodband or high speed in US & there once the account is set up the internet connection is like always on.I would appreciate if someone can help me find the answers.ThanksAnu
Hi, Don't know how other broadband connections in India work, but Sify certainly isn't what you'd expect a "broadband" connection to be like.1) You don't need a modem for using Sify. You need a LAN card only.2) Yes, you get egt a Userid and Pasword on Sify when you sign up with them.3) Yes, you have to login most of the times when you want to use Sify because Sify automatically logs you out after several hours if you forgot to logout yourself. This is apart from a bug on Sify which logs out subscribers every 15-20 minutes, which new subscribers to Sify face but it can be sorted out fairly simply now.All said, if you want a satisfying broadband experience in India, Sify in my opinion isn't the one to go for. It's too frustrating an experience most of us have on Sify.

i myself am using two IDs since i have the sify connection...and a funny thing happened this time...first they were reluctant to renew it and now they've renewed both the IDs with the same 128 KB night unlimited pack, when i've paid for only one...though it's of no use for me coz i can use only one ID...just am telling u guys that till u're in sify, everything is possible...jai sify!!! 😀
finally friends i got my user id free of charge i complained the matter to cc more than 40 times so they took action & asked my cto to provide me the id free of charge. my cto told me that he collected 1000rs from every person who wanted multiple ids i was the only one to whom he provided free 😛
