Well which D/L Manager gives you the fastest download on your sify connection. For me it is Internet Download Accelerator (IDA) 4.1.2.845DAP 7.4 also works fine.Flashget 1.65 is just pathetic but it works for the link-removed links so that is why I keep it.I've heard that GetRight is also nice but haven't ever used it. It also works with link-removed links.Reply and also do give some nice settings or tweaks for Windows as well as these progs that can really increase downloading speeds. I'm on WinXP.

I mostly get the same speed no matter what I use. Sometimes Opera reports an obviously wrong download speed but I don't use it for big files anyway.

If the ISP limits the speed then tweaking wont help much unless there is some bug in the limiter's code.Still keep the cpu usage low and some amount of RAM free whenever downloading. This speeds up a bit sometimes.

^ ^ OoOpsss!!! I run like twenty apps at a time!!!Thx for the tip..!!

Download accelerators can only affect the speeds if the ISP caps each stream to a certain bandwidth, so by connecting to the server with multiple connections, you get extra speeds.I use flashget, possibly the best [windows] download manager on the planet, except that the free version has ads. I dunno what problems you face with it. If you want good browser integration, get firefox and use the flashgot extension. Thats the combo I use on windows.Lol, a few days back I noticed I was getting 30 kBps while downloading the linux kernel on flashget, I then increased the connections to the server to 10, and the speed touched 200 kBps

thats true.if we have limited speed.we can't tweak.
what ever the download manager is.

but there is one thing, these download managers use multiple thread downloading.(it works awsome if we have speeds like 100-300 kBPS).but it sucks badly when we have limited connection of 10-12KBPS
so i suggest single thread downloading.which is possible with flashget(i dono abt other download managers).

and there is another simple and fast download manager.it is winwget(a open source tool for windows).try it

Flashget the standalone program also was messing some stuff up on my computer or I just didn't like the interface either way I uninstalled it. Getright here too. I still use the flashget extension on firefox though it's very useful there.1

Leechget! Fast, free, nice interface, no ads, no spyware.. what more could u ask for? beats flashget easily 😉

what i've experienced is download accelerators don't give you more speed than your bandwidth, but it sure does give u as much as possible of the bandwidth, which in turn is more than normal downloading...no matter which one u're using...
