A group of hackers claming from Indonesia hacker society have hacked the ubuntu India linux forums. Look at this
 
I didn't even know that there was an official India Ubuntu Forum. I prefer ubuntuforums.org 🙂.
 
^ well ! it is not an official India Ubuntu Forums .it is run by a lover of Ubuntu Linux . sad thatit has been hacked . it was just an amateure site ...[ doesnt mean that inexperienced persons run it ]
 
*Phew* they did not include India in their greetings list.Just a simple defacement, nothing lost hopefully.
 
idiots...dont even know the difference between "hacking" and "cracking". n00b script kiddies!! 😛 They should've written "cracked and defaced by...." and not otherwise 😛
 

Its time for us and Sushubh to secure broadbandforum.co. I have already reported some of the threads. some one coming and posting porn things in our forum. What does that mean. Need to increase our security.
 
anyone can register and post a spammy topic. it's not exactly a security issue... i dont think anyone needs to hack this forum to make a new id and post some junk posts. i can block automatic registration and no one would be able to post junk posts here. but i would never know which of the newly registered members are actually decent people with requirement to join the forum.
 
ubuntuforums.org got hacked this time around. big time.
Unfortunately the attackers have gotten every user's local username, password, and email address from the Ubuntu Forums database.The passwords are not stored in plain text. However, if you were using the same password as your Ubuntu Forums one on another service (such as email), you are strongly encouraged to change the password on the other service ASAP.Ubuntu One, Launchpad and other Ubuntu/Canonical services are NOT affected by the breach.
