[color=rgb(255,0,0);]Airtel sucks[/color]. I have created this name a my username out of sheer frustration for this network. They are the number 1 cheaters. I have been an AIRTEL customer for [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]10 years[/color]. These [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]money hungry[/color] people are doing smart tricks to earn cheap [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]money[/color] from me.
My airtel plan- 8 GB limited plan -Rs 799+Taxes
As its a limited connection I should be able to watch how much dataMB/GB i have used till current date. I was watching it for the past one week in the airtel website. Now airtel has prevented me from logging on to their website even if I provide correct username and [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]password[/color]. They have just ruthlessly disable airtel 'myaccounts' login on purpose, so that I will not be able [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]to check[/color] my data usage.
I have made complaints to 121 stating
"Everytime I logged in today into your website( airtel Online Bill Payment - Postpaid Mobile, Broadband, Landline Bill Pay & Digital TV Recharge
) using the given [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]phone number[/color] and security question, it logs in till the
welcome screen and then after few seconds [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]automatically[/color] logs out. I'm facing so
much trouble with your services. I guess its time for me to quit AIRTEL. "
They asked for errored screenshot of AIrtel website. I mailed them. They responded in a nasty manner. They sent a person to my house to checkwhether my [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]broadband[/color] connection is working or not.

They have done this disabling of logging on to Airtel [color=rgb(59,103,150);background-color:transparent;]my account[/color] - time frequently, so that we might not be able to check our usage[i.e they will be able to earn heavily when we exceed 8 GB]
[color=rgb(255,0,0);]Disabling of airtel website[my accounts] on purpose is not legal. I think I am finally going to court. This has created so much frustration and waste of money and time for me[multiple times]. [/color]
 
First..they are not cheating. They have mentioned 8GB and 8GB is what you are getting. If myaccount section is not working, you can use a software to track your usage. And its not like they have particular interest in disabling your account section to earn money from you only. Haven't seen anyone else complaining. And how much rich the company's is gonna get by disabling myaccount section like this for few of its customers? Few thousand rupees?
And I am sure there are methods to escalate your complaint. You should try to reach to Airtel's Nodal officer or any higher authority whichever is available. It must be some local problem.
Do note: Please stop hijacking other threads with the same content. One post is enough to describe your grievance against Airtel.
 
SmartBytes page should show how much data has been consumed and how much data is left. Have you tried that?

Most people are using unlimited plan where the speed reduces after 8 GB. So they do not have a necessity to track their usage. Hence they do not complain.
2 of my friends are using the same limited plan as mine. They are located in Bangalore. They have the same problem with the account login. I have noticed a pattern in this website problem as well. When you keep checking your usage frequently, they disable it. Since they disabled 'myaccounts' section, the airtel bill for me last month was 1340 rs[as i could not track my usage] instead of usual 799+taxes[i.e around 900]. So if they earn 500 from each customer, think of it as how much they will fleece. Once they got the market leader position these cheaters are just trying to extract money from us.
Is there any method to escalate the issue or reach the nodal officer?
Any good well know software to track data usage?

They have disabled smartbytes for my accounts. I just tried it.

Do you really want to take it that far? Give up your airtel connection and switch to another provider.
 
I will surely change connection. i just feel cheated and I have spent so much time contacting the customer care, each time this disabling happens. So need to give them back something great while going.
 


Trust me. My anger level has gone down significantly ever since I got rid of Airtel last year.
 
I'll agree with chromaniac, change the connection. Going to court and doing stuff will be again painstaking.
 
Err you won't be doing any significant damage If you choose other ISPs. If airtel works for you,then better get your problem solved rather than switching to other ISPs unless you have ACT,YOU,Beam or other sort of local ISPs who offer better service.

for me it is the other way around..I am happy ever since I got rid of BSNL landline and broadband and shifted to airtel. :mml:

I hope u r telling the complete picture about the things u have mentioned here.
u can contact the nodal and appellate and complain about the inability to check usage since that is the basic norm in TRAI rules. remind them about TRAI and that u would be complaining to TRAI and DOT about the inability to check usage. It is in the TRAI rules that an ISP should provide a way to check usage.
tell them nicely that u would cancel the broadband connection if ur unable to check usage. don't be rude or crass in ur mail.

The my account section IS supposed to logout automatically after inactivity. Either that or there is some issue with your browser cookies.
Do you REALLY think airtel would go that far and put in its resources to annoy one user? Don't think so.

I have been an airtel broadband user since last 6-8 years. It is weird how I seem to have faced zero issues in all these years compared to other people who keep complaining only to find out there was some issue at their end itself in the first place.

Firstly just because you didn't face any issue for the last 6-8 years, it doesn't mean that each and every person using this connection won't face any problem.
You first Think a little more and view the big picture. Few people known to me have also faced the same issue[those having a limited data plan]
So Airtel is using resources to annoy and steal money from a number of low end users[not just one]. In this case resources means Airtel just removes the password from 'myaccounts' database. So it doesn't use much of resources to do it!
"How did I manage to get Smartbytes disabled?" This question that you have asked looks funny!. You better ask this question to Airtel. Maybe I will send you a snapshot that says 'Smartbytes is not available for your acc..."
If you had read my initial post it says that the site logs out after few seconds[read it as 2 seconds]. This can never happen due to cookies stuff/inactivity. Tried in various browsers as well.
Airtel sucks..cheaters..
