Other than touch ID, anything significant about this phone?
- Custom Silicon (Custom ARM)
- The first vendor to use 64-bit ARM chips and to convert their entire OS to 64-bit
- Updated IDE to allow developers(3rd party) to convert to 64-bit. (And they're doing the same)
- Developers also implement unique features on their custom SoCs with 4 MB Cache
- Secure Enclave (I think this one is the highest point in tech pov)
- iBeacon (iOS 7)
And these are only the known popular features.
I see lot of people saying that Apple is lacking in SW & HW innovations. Can't innovate my ass! 😀

According to Amin and other Reddit users, the powered-off tracking stems from the app's use of the iPhone 5S' M7 chip, a motion-sensor used by a range of sports-related apps, including one developed by Nike. The M7, a co-processor to the phone's main A7 chip, purely handles motion-sensor functions and requires very little power.
In this case, Amin claims it still tracked his steps even when the phone's battery was flat.

Newly discovered Cirrus chip in iPhone 5s could explain enhanced audio features.
When Apple introduced the iPhone 5, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller noted a number of new methods being used for noise cancellation from solutions using the device’s third microphone to an updated “noise-cancelling earpiece” and the addition of wideband audio. The new parts by Cirrus are numbered as 338S1202 for the Class D audio amplifier and 338S1201 for the Audio Codec. Note that the audio codec is ~30% smaller than the codec inside the iPhone 5.
It is quite possible that Apple’s new, in-house noise canceling technology uses this new Apple-branded Cirrus chip.

Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres poses for Samsung sponsored selfie, but tweets from her iPhone. 😀

Last Summer Olympics, Samsung signed an "exclusive agreement with David Beckham to be its global brand ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games," but Beckham was, embarrassingly for Samsung, just spotted using his iPhone 5s at the Super Bowl.
