heh yeah i guess. it does not even happen in my variant. there is a button that can lock and unlock but the car does not lock itself up without manual action. very absurd. and of course, i absolutely hate the missing gauges for temperature, average, distance to empty etc. 😕

but i do like the fact that the steering locks itself as soon as you open the door. no need to do it manually. in fact you cannot lock it manually while inside the car. very useful.

Good that Hyundai has given the feature to lock all doors from a button even in the Magna version.

And yes, the gauges mentioned by you is surly missed. The engine running time is useless feature IMO, It shows something as 3 hours when I have been running the car for hardly 10 min.

yeap. celerio has all of these at least in the vxi auto model 😛 i was so pissed off when i saw it.

While discussing about Grand i10 with friends, someone asked if "Roof Rails" can be opted out? Is it possible to not have roof rail fitted?

Also what are positives and negatives of Grand i10 Diesel over Petrol?

Roof rails are only on the top variants I think? Not sure though.
I am not even sure what they are for.

Roof rails are used to carry luggage and some other things like surfboards, kayaks etc which use special mounts which latch on to these roof rails 🙂

the ones that came preinstalled on my car does not have holes in it. so i am not sure how you can connect anything to it 😀

Roof rails of Grand i10 doesn't looks like it can hold anything 🙂
BTW how is performace of Grand i10 Diesel? what are +ve/-ve of Diesel variant?

when i was checking out these models... i was told that the diesel grand is kind of under powered. i did not however take a test ride because it was out of my budget and i was pretty clear on taking a petrol car.

sadly i find the petrol car under powered but that is likely because i drove diesel cars for the last 4-5 years and i still expect the car to get into turbo mode after crossing 2500rpm.

it has been more than a year and i still drive my grand like a diesel car 😀

I guess all small size diesel car would be under powered. We cannot expect power like Sedan or SUV from small cars.

well. here in india. companies have access to only a few engine options so usually you get the diesel engines designed for hatchbacks in sedans. fiat's multijet engine is a good example. the one in the grand i10 however was developed specifically for smaller hatchbacks though i am guessing the same engine is also being used to power the diesel variant of the xcent? not sure though.

Can any owner check and tell what all tools are in the toolkit that comes with the car? I just need to verify if my toolkit is complete.

There should be a reflective triangle, spare bulbs, jack and jack lever, spanner, towing rod and first aid kit. These things were in my cousin's i20 CRDi. Should be similar in your Grand i10.

the jack lever is in the same pocket. so total of three items. sounds good. i am not sure if i still have the triangle in the car. have not seen it in a while. but at least i have the stuff that is needed for a puncture.

i asked because a friend took the unopened toolkit from me. and i only got it back after a few days. so i was not sure if he had not misplaced anything.
