dear folks.i currently use sify 128kbps night unlimited package. i pay rs400 a month.i am contemplating a switch to 48kbps unlimited package for 450rs a month.i fear that there might be hidden or apparent catches like:"if you use more than 128 mb per day, for each extra 128 mb, there will be a reduction in package validity by one day."i therefore solicit your opinion regarding the 48 kbps plan. does the aforementioned "catch" apply to the 48 kbps unlimited package?what do you think of the idea of a switch? (i download a lot of linux packages... yum update.)will the 128 mb limit include only downloads of files of type zip, rar, tar.gz etc., or would it include html pages and jpg images as well?and what if i just keep connected to the net, without communicating with any server outside sify? will the 128 mb count still keep ticking?thanks in advance.-vishvas,bangalore

Its like this ...If you care for speed, don't go for the 48kbps plan ... your speeds can be anywhere from 2-3 kBps to 11-12 kBps ... with the former being the more likely. However, otherwise the 450rs scheme is quite good, I use it for a while. There shouldn't be any reduction in validity ... however confirm with your customer care, some people have been told that such limits exist on their connections 🙁

And to add to your knowledge, a friend of mine is in Sify and he told me that the pack they are selling at 48 KBPS is actually 64 KBPS Unlimited. So you get a download speed of 64 KBPS or up. ME too using the same 48 KBPS pack and my speed is around 70-90 KBPS.
