Yesterday I visited both Chroma and Crossword, spent some quality time understanding and taking demo of both kindle paperwhite and kobo. Here are the specs:
Kindle Paperwhite:
WiFi
3G free for lifetime (but only Amazon and wikipedia can be accessed)
2 GB internal storage (no expandable)
Free amazon cloud for lifetime
Screen size 6 inches
Price Rs 12000
KoBo Aura:
WiFi
No 3G
Inbuild 4 GB space but user can avail only 3GB
Expandable memory upto 32 GB
Screen size 6.8 inches
Price Rs 14000
My main purpose to buy an ebook reader is so that I do not have to carry heavy books with me when in transit from office to home and vice versa. I have lots of books in digital format (PDF). So to take a quick demo, I downloaded PDF on both Kindle and KoBo and tried reading them. But I found KoBo has a better reading experience with PDFs....With Kindle it was refreshing the whole screen every time i scrolled the page up-down, which was quite irritating and pain to my eyes.
With KoBo it was comparatively smoother....the sales person told me that it will be more smoother if I convert the PDF to PUB format...
My budget is limited to 7k but with that price the size of the kindle I am getting was small 6 inches.
