I just got a warning message on my IPTV that the IPTV service will be discontinued in near future as the license with content provider was not renewed due to some internal dispute.
Is it the end of MTNL IPTV ?

Yes, i also seen that message but nothing was mentioned on iControl website. On the MTNL site under IPTV section a obituary note is given
IPTV Service is being closed w.e.f 10-08-2013.

it has been nearly more then 4 years we have been using this service, will really miss it

Yup..since I'm on IPTV oldest connection of Rs 199 monthly, and they have said to not recharge further, does that means postpaid customers will not be charged in their bills?

MTNL IPTV discontinuing services on 31 Aug at 11:59PM
What would be a good solution..DTH or cable services like DEN, Hathaway ??

I ordered the MaaxTV receiver from my local dealer and got one within a few days. I wanted one so that my mum could watch all her favorite channels from home. She cannot understand or speak English or any other language other than our native Arabic. Just a day after I fitted the box to the TV, she complained that she could not view the channels that she wanted to. I then tried to get the channels but could not get quite a few. The channels I got were jerky and filled with noise. Customer service is very bad too - they cut off my call in the middle of the conversation with their representative. In a sentence, a very poor product!
