Previously, chennai bsnl site put it

No speed increase in home unlimited

BSNL has announced it is increasing download limits and increasing speeds.
Check the latest announcement by BSNL in the following link

http://www.rediff.com/money/2006/dec/21bsnl.htm

In an article earlier in Business line, it is said that BSNL will reduce rates for all packages and at the same time unlimited offers may be offered in higher speeds. Good bye 256kbps

And previous announcement by Dayanidhi Maran here

This man really has Guts to take telecom sector forward.Already we have one india plan to his kitty. Now unlimited BB is to add to it.Way to Go India !! I can't wait 😛

Yep, read this one in the papers today. It is high time something is done to the pathetic broadband scene in India. Nothing less than 1 mbps unlimited should be provided to us. It is time we caught on with the rest of the world. Hope it actually happens in the first yr of 2007, going by our govt/ bureaucracy track record things don't happen as promised. Keeping my fingers crossed.

agreed,We need to go for multi M's.We should really get rid of those stupid limits..I hope this will fuel to more competition and more speed.

I was going to post this topic but saw it had already been started....I think v r gonna get 1 Mbps.......

Yes we are gonna get 512Kbps and 1Mbps UNLIMITED connections soon!!! But I am afraid about how they are gonna price these packages... Lets hope for the best

Great news guys! But till now they don't have unlimited for commercial connection (like for Cyber cafe that I have), do you think that will all change now??I definitely HOPE SO!!

if china can do it so can we 😀 i hope they upgrade my 256 UL to 512 and I'd pay about 500 more for a fat 1 mbps pipe 🙄

damn, i was just going to switch from Home 500 to Home UL 900 starting Dec 1st !Note, Dayanand Maran only says "2007", its the article that says "come January" 🙂Also, today at my place in Pune, BSNL folks came and laid a cable which the guy called "fiber", but might it just be coaxial copper cable for their triple play thingy??In any case, I really hope we get 1 mbps unlimited for decent price!

I just want to say Yahooooooo !!! 1 mbps connection I am coming ! I need larger HDD ---> 1-10 TBs 😉

people just calm down. lets all be skeptical of maran's statements... i'll believe it when i see it! 😛
