So for a week now, I've been unable to access the internet because the DSL light is off (not blinking). This has happened before and usually comes back on when a lineman comes to my premises and fixes it. Does anyone know the procedure to fix it? Is it because a loose cable or something that I can fix on my own?

call customer care file a report that your line is down.

depends upon the region. people in my city seems to be quite responsive. 🙁
file a complaint on their online portal. that usually forwards the complaint to the SDO in your area.

I usually fiddle with the wires in the distribution box on my premises. Its just a twist and join that they have done, not even taped it to ensure it stays in place. I suppose your voice line is working fine?

Yes, the phone has a dial tone. I checked the distribution box too but had no idea what to do. It's just a sequentially numbered grid of some sort with wires twirling all around it.

raise an online complaint as they are bound by metrics and reports internally and will have to act to close it.
you can do it from the selfcare portal.
also just to check if the issue is with your splitter, try connecting the phone line directly into your modem
if you have a parallel line, try moving your modem to the other location as well
this is how i troubleshoot and had some issues with internal wiring when i moved home last year

Some problem in line or exchange. Anyways, check using another modem.
