Thomson Or Humax

You need to get in touch with Tata Sky and let them resolve it. Mostly the problem has to be with the software in the thomson box as it is not able to load properly at times. 20 - 30 mins is a lot of time and is very strange.

i have got 3 stb of thompson no problems as of yet ( since Nov), works very smoothly... 🙂

Good discussion. Recently i got myself a Tata Sky connection through a common dish ( which means a bigger dish 😀 ) for our wing and the experience till now has been good. There have been glitches and freezes a few times but blaming it entirely on thomson stbs is foolish. There may also be a glitch in the uplink transmission of a channel i.e the original signal itself would be a bit distorted so you never know. Yes if it's freezing and getting distorted often then something is wrong at your end but the occasional momentary disrupts used to happen in the cable too. With time the quality of the service will definitely improve so we don't need to worry.My cable wallah had told me that i need to pay about 1200 Rs \- !! for the new wire (about 40m ) as the wire in my duct had gone bad . When he saw tatasky ppl in my house he told me u won't get clear signal through the wire in the duct and also brought down the earlier 1200 amount to just 600 !!! Twat . Funny thing is tatasky ppl used the same wire in the duct to give me crystal clear signal with good sound quality. :lol: Besides i owed 3k to my cable wallah as payment till date but decided to put in additional 450 Rs and got tatasky instead. The society too is asking all the residents to stand up against the operator coz he had filed a police complaint earlier against tatasky for using his wires and disconnecting all the tatasky connections. Since then the society has told him to fuc.k off and that the residents have their choice and the wires in the duct are the property of the society. The only way he will be able to do anything now is if he took legal action which i'm sure he won't do coz that would be waste of money. 😀

Cheers wizard. Yes , i have suffered a lot due to my arrogant cable operator and it's nice to see them at the receiving end. I'm very satisfied with the service but i do miss the cable movies at times but it's only a matter of time before such things become available on Tata Sky as well and with sky looking at bringing their exclusive content , it's going to be exciting times ahead.

@maahkaal : hehe, cable movies ? horrible hindi movies with scrolling ads that cover half of the scrren. I think it is good riddance. Yeah, i too am looking forward to some exclusive content. The movies on demand is too expensive. Makes more sense to rent a original dvd for 50 bucks and watch the movie. Instead of paying 75.
