I agree with you bro, truecaller is a awesome app to have ... Since I have installed it telemarketing calls have become less since I have blocked quite a few of them plus it gives an idea as to whose calling so I dont answer the call when I know its a marketing one ... Big thumbs up from me for truecaller !!AbhishekS said:I don't know what's the fuss about. It's just your telephone number, not your bank details. Many friends uninstalled the app after the hacking stuff. I'll continue using though. Great app for me, very helpful.
It happened with me when my friend called me (I did not save his number in my contact list) and true caller suggested his name as "Name Amway". Obviously I didnt pick up his call and later got to know its my friend when he messaged me.chromaniac said:I would also like to point out something. Suppose you are in the sales market. And one of the people you have called in the past puts you in TrueCaller database as an a*****e telecaller. Now, you might end up finding your own friends and relatives not picking up your phone if they see the same identifier on their phones (in case they do not have your number in their contact's database).
Just saying. Sure we all hate telecallers but services like these are not the solution. Sure, use them for your own benefits. But that does not mean that what it is doing is good for the general public.
Yup you are right. I tried it from my phone just now & after verifying that I am not a robot, nothing happened. I hope the ##* didn't capture my phone number. In hindsight not a good idea to try it from my phone. 🤦🏻♂️ I never used their app but I had unlisted my number years ago & it was still valid as my friend had checked it last week
