My ACT story has been painful to say the least.
This has been the timeline (dates might be off by a day or two):
May 21st: I applied for the connection. The sales rep came to my house and collected approximately Rs. 4100/- for their 50mbps plan, 250 GB Plan. I was told I will be getting the connection in the next 7 working days
May 25th-May 29th: I didn't hear anything from ACT. Thus, I called them back. They did not even have my customer ID. The sales representative from Cox Town, had not filed my application. His name is Manju (+919945595541)
May 29th: I repeatedly kept calling Manju (who didn't even answer my calls once after taking the advance), and Customer Service. I kept Manju's number on repeat dial. After 50+ calls, finally he SMSd back saying that he will get his part done. I finally received a text from ACT saying that they received my money. I was given a new date (7 working days more)
June 4th - June 11th: I called up ACT customer service again, since I hadn't heard anything from them. I posted on their FB page, and must have called customer service at least 20 times. (average of 2-3 times daily). Again, nothing! The nodal officers' number doesn't work. Everyday I was given the same answer : In the mornings - "sir, today evening it will be done for sure", and in the evening - "sir, tomorrow morning it will be done for sure"
June 12th: Finally, I could reach Kiran (Nodal officer), who promised the connection would be done in 24 hours (I had also e-mailed Kiran)
June 13th: I get the connection at my home. 18 working days (24 normal days) after paying the deposit. This is not where the story ends.
July 2nd: In the night, the connection stops working.
July 3rd: Early morning I call up CS, file a complain. I am told that the connection will be fixed within 24 business hours
July 4th-July 5th: I hear nothing from ACT at all. I called up CS every day - and I am given the same answer "sir, they are fixing it right away. It will be done in a few hours". On July 5th, I lost patience, and refused to hang up till the guy escalated the call. He escalates the call to Kiran (Nodal officer). Kiran promises to call back in 10 minutes. In couple of hours, the issue is fixed, and my internet is up and running again. I am told, this will never happen again.
July 6th: Evening: Internet stops working again!
July 7th: I call up CS. They tell me that the issue will be fixed permanently this time. The issue is resolved later in the day (at around 7 PM)
July 9th (Today): I notice in the morning that my internet is down again. I call up CS again. They tell me that the issue will be resolved today, permanently. I try to reach Kiran, but he is unavailable.
Thankfully I didn't disconnect my Airtel 4mbps (I wanted ACT since Airtel doesn't have 16mbps in my area). I will wait for a few days, and if the next 2 weeks I face the same connectivity issues - I will disconnect the line. I will strongly advise people to not go for ACT.
Is this entire company out there to rob us with false claims?

Dude, I have a regular job. I was working from home today, and needed internet badly! I am not some internet troll. If you want, I can PM you my linkedin/FB profile page links, so that you know this is a genuine post. If you see my professional details on Linkedin, would it convince you that I am not some paid troll?
P.S. If you just google my moniker (e1t1bet), you'd find me posting on various forums all the way back to 2008/2009 or so (and I have hardly ever posted reviews of products). I don't recall ever been treated this badly by any company ever - not even used car salesmen! I am paying 3K+ per month for their connection. This isn't what I expected at all.

My Account Number is 296323
Continuing the timeline:
July 10th : My internet is fixed.
One month passes by
Aug 25th : No internet in the night. Fixed itself next day
Aug 28th : No internet in the night. Fixed itself next day
Aug 29th : Internet is gone for good now. Entire day. I call up ACT CC, and as usual they tell me they will be back in 24 working hours (which basically means 3 weekdays). Once again, I have been told that this time this issue will be rectified permanently.
My account number is 296323. Let me know if you can help.

Aug 31st : I called them yesterday, told them it's a repeating problem. They told me that they are fixing it on priority basis, and this will be sorted by the evening. I call them up in the evening, I am told, that my Internet will definitely and certainly, come what may, be fixed by the next morning. This was communicated to me, by the supervisor Mohan, and that too when I had already mailed nodal officer Kiran 2 days back. Also, everytime I call them, I am told that the field engineer will call me within the next 1-2 hours. Of course, no one ever calls me back from Act.
Sept 1st : I call them in the morning again. I am stone-walled by customer service again. This time I am told that they will fix it definitely by the afternoon. I call them in the afternoon, and speak to Mohan again. I am told, 8PM is the time by when it will definitely and certainly be fixed. At 7:30 PM, having received no calls, I call them back. I am told by the floor supervisor himself that he is busy on another call and will call me back in 15 minutes. No one calls me back. At 8:00 PM, I call them again. This time, I am told the same story that in 30 minutes I will get a call back. It's been 45 minutes till then... Of course, I have no hopes of this getting fixed today or tomorrow.
Can someone please advice what to do?

From what I can gather, their ONT seems to be placed in some dude's house and he switches off the power at will. Unless of course, the ont is installed on your premises.

Today, I reached out to Mr. N.Prasad and Mr. Kirti Simha from ACT. One of these gentlemen is the head of the business, the other person is the head of customer service. I expect to hear from them. I have also asked them to waiver 25% of my total bill, or some waiver, because of frequent disconnections.
If I do not hear from them even now, I go back to Airtel 8 mbps.

Hello M/s. ACT,
You have replied to him because he has reached you infinite time what about me my customer Id is 10400870 on the 15th of every month my speed is reduced to 50 Kb/s inspite of being inside FUP and the shocking fact is that my plan states that I am supposed to receive 256 Kb/s post FUP. And any time I make a call all I hear is that I have to clear my temp & cookies and wait for the technical team to call which never happens......

Hello,
I am joining the long list of people complaining about ACT broadband connections. The internet connection hardly works. Looks like Kiran Kumar is the only guy who works here since he is being mentioned by everyone.
I asked for disconnection on April 3rd, finally it was done in mid April and I am yet to receive my refund.
While taking the connection the sales person told me if you pay for 6 months, the router is free, but now they are telling me I have to return it. I have written several emails to nodal officer but addressed to Mr Sunder Raju and have never received a reply.
Please do not take ACT connection. It is one of the worst connections and customer service is so pathetic. They just make promises but nobody replies.
Now they even owe me money and not ready to give it!!

@Devadittya Banerjee : Even i am facing some issues with Act, with there customer care executives, who bluntly put me on mute and hold for 15 min and never got back to me when asked for a manager. So if you could share the email addresses for Mr. Kirti Shima or any other higher officials of Act, that would be of a great help.. I think more people writing them mails regarding the issues we are facing, i guess they would take a serious note into the matters..
All i am trying to do is being a loyal customer of them and trying to reactivate my old connection in the new area which i shifted to, which didn't have there connection till now..

Any email Id's of there senior team would be of a great help..
Thank you.
