Airtel 250 Plan + Night Top Up - Does Speed Doubles

I m using the airtel 250 plan and a night top up for Rs. 99.In it,i get unlimited downloads at night.My problem is that in delhi,people are getting double speeds at night i.e. 512 kbps,whereas i am not.I was using the Yozan web distributor.I even switched to the Beetel 220 bx modem,but i am not getting the double speed,whereas some of my friends are getting the double speed on the same plan.They r using the same modem - Beetel 220 Bx.Anybody having any idea about this????
 
Call Airtel and ask them why they are not giving u double speed, maybe its not available on ur plan.
 
actually there is a setting that u can see in the modem's backend which shows the max speed airtel has set on ur connection. it's modem independent and can only be fixed from their end. check that setting and get it fixed by calling customer care.

though i have a feeling that double speeds at night is for unlimited package owners.
 
CC says that the double speed is for unlimited plans onlyBut,my other friends in delhi are getting the double speed.I don't know why and how??Even the airtel executive who came to my house also confirmed that people are getting 512 kbps of speed.But he doesn't know why i am not getting it.
 
An Airtel executive came to your house and said that you should get double speed.. what more do you want? Ask that same guy to fix it.
 
my problem still stands there : the airtel executive does not have any idea why this is happening..
 

As Sushubh said, this is a setting in the modem that they can change from the backend. Ask them to do exactly that.And not that it is a hard and fast rule, but I think the more that you are a pain in the ass for the local guys (i.e. by complaining again and again to Customer Care), I think the more likely they will fix your problem. Just don't be totally unreasonable.
 
the setting that u are saying for max downstream has been set to 576 Kbps i.e. well above 512 Kbps.I m thinking that there is some problem in the line or at the airtel end.
 
I would recommend you to convert to 256 unlimited for one month this way you complain about double speed and then come back to current plan next month. 😉
 
that may help. but the point remains that double speed is mostly buggy. i do not get it every night.
 
Double speed in night is not commited to any user from company's side.. Maybe U'll get it, maybe not..

1 more thing, IF YOU HAVE NIGHT TOP-UP IN ANY PLAN, SPEED WILL NOT GET DOUBLED in any case...
