I just got my new machine assembled. The system is;c2d e63001GB ddr2 RAMintel d945gz mobo160gb satageforce 7600gs The thing is that the normal CPU temperate is like around 55-57C when i just switched it on and checked in the bios. In idle mode its around 52-53C. It gets to 61C while playing games. What's the maximum temperate a C2d can hold up to?Why is my machine getting so hottt?!

Are the exhaust fans working properly? And with the graphic card and all cooling should be a matter of high importance. Somebody told me that these days cabinets should have at least 3-4 fans or exhaust areas. Jus contact you engineer. I'm sure he'd know better.

i know it is something of a useless response. considering spending some money on a cabinet which is designed to support such kind of a hardware. something which comes with better cooling hardware. they may be harder to find in india. but the cooler the processor, the faster it would run.

hmmm did you by any chance remove and refitt the processor & heat sink? In that case you might want to clean the heat sink with isopropanol and apply a little arctic silver.

Use good quality coolant like Arctic Silver , its very effective . Also dont start opening ur heat sink right away .. its newly assembled so give it 6-7 days for thermal gel to adjust .. temperature will decrease later . If temperature does not decrease after 5-6 days of usage then open heatsink and re apply thermal gel .

Always have a cabinat which is a little bigger , so that heat generated gets serculated better. 61 dec seems resonable, the max temp for HDD is around 45 Dec . so 61 seems fair enough, and also try to keep ur cabinate open , if u can , if ur room is well closed and u dont get too much dust , better keep it always openJMTC
