Not a suprise!
I can point out few reasons :
1) Mtnl is overstaffed
2) Government employee attitude
3) Private telecoms giving out to bribes to Govt to hamper their services.

They have just recently increased tariff of almost all their services. Should help them to some extent...

If these guys push aggresively their FTTH with decent rates then they will have a winner on their hands even higher speeds for some of their current plans, but then as its said above their attitude is so ...... What can I say.

Unless their staff is well educated on how the Telephone system works and how their "ISP" should be operated.... They will have these losses...!
On one end their GM wants to promote FTTH services & on the other end they are not even covering basic localities near their own exchanges,
It has been 3 years we are hearing FTTH would be implemented but till now not even south Mumbai is fully covered nor is the areas near Delhi.
Other ISP's Announced FTTH and implemented it within their reach....But this government sector company just doesnt want to improve.... 🙁

@socrates...^^the news which you gave me have been in circulation for a while but oddly its not avaliable in Mumbai suburbs......!
I asked Airtel guyz in my area...their typical response was ports are full....
But as a mtnl customer...only one thing comes in my mind when reading these net speeds....are lines from Shah Rukh Khan's song......(Hindi)"Main rouu ya hasu.......karu main kya karu..." 🙂

Well IF BSNL had Good Work Ethics, Oh My God Did I say that for a Govt. Organization? Sorry! And they provided BASIC Net connections of even probably 1 mbps download and upload or 2mbps download/1mbps upload without FUP then things would have been good because:A. It would have been cheaper being a gov org andB. Regular flow of income from Satisfied Users and there would be more bandwidth to share to get more customers! But come on! What is the use of 100 MBPS connections when the MAJORITY of the people are not gonna be able to afford that s#!t?! Ah well! Maybe it was meant to be that just for the greed of the Minority the Majority have to Suffer! I do have a feeling though with different allegations these days, you really don't know what to believe. But that's just playing safe, rather than SPELL out the Obvious! 😕Lol Ever tried talking LOGIC in a BSNL office?! Be it to Whoever! First they'll be all noise, but when they find out you have valid points, and ACTUALLY Have Brains, then _____________.Hmm Maybe because of these losses they're not allowing people to see their data usage so that they can show proof of non-usage, and are refusing to answer to complaints asking for deposit refunds or bill adjustments for nonusage?! It's been a year now since I've returned my modem and waiting for my refund! Yes I've made numerous complaints and gone to the CSC itself in vain! Of Course, I LOVE MY COUNTRY!

In most companies the marketing guys are ahead of the rest of the company & the customer gets the response you got. 😀

@marketing guyz....Some people just wanna world suffer...!
@socrates...are you getting high pings to south asian servers from last saturday.......?
Where to complain...whom to complain.....prabhadevi or our own exchange....?
They are routing all traffic through sify...who doesnt have any peering in south asian region...!

@X720...dude are you in mumbai for that kind of pings or in gurgaon....?
If in mumbai how did you get 120 ping ...please pm me...!

Mumbai. MTNL.I have no clue. Any trace to SE Asia goes via TATA and those to Europe go via Sify, resulting in awesome all round pings.

My any trace to euro or south asia is going through sify......🙁
Thats why i asked you for pointers...!
