I recently surrendered my Airtel connection (A LandLine + DSL - Broadband Internet). I submitted the surrender letter personally to the showroom, had it acknowledged with their seal and signature. But they never treated the connection as “surrendered”. The f@#%$#s are trying to outsmart me by sending bills for days beyond the surrender date (25+ inactive days). I also paid them all dues, ie. All bills generated till date of surrender. I gave a current dated cheque at the time of surrender itself.I even offered them to pay my unbilled amount, at the time of surrender. They said that they will send a seperate bill at the end of the month for those unbilled period (5 days approx)I guess this is what is happening to anynoe goin through any exit phase.

quadramble,

Hutch tried to do the same thing on a post-paid connection here

They shamelessly sent bills even after their mobile was disconnected.

Its not just Airtel or Hutch who does this.... read my blog to know what every other corporates do

Today, the smart executive at the Airtel showroom refused to give me a confirmation letter on the deactivation of my line. She even refused to give me a receipt for the cheque i gave for the outstanding amount! When are you dis-continuing their service, you are f**ked in every way possible

Well..yes. Even after disconnection of my hutch postpaid connection i did receive a bill and many phone calls asking me to clear the outstanding amount although i have cleared my dues....The fact remains that weather it be HUTCH or AIRTEl these guyz have some cunning policies and the best way to gt rid of them is by not paying attention to their bills nor their calls. Threatening them by using the 2 letter word CONSUMER COURT might just do the trick ( never tried it although 😛 ... did any body here try it??)
