Friends,
I have finally decided to dump my BSNL broadband connection that I had been using for the last 6-7 yrs. I am thinking of taking a wired broadband connection from our local cable operator. I think Meghbela Broadband is the ISP providing services in our area through our cable operator.
Never having used a cable broadband before, I naturally have doubts regarding their security and reliability. Regarding speed and latency, I know it can't get any worse than BSNL but since I am a freelance web consultant, reliability of the internet is important to me and so is security since I do a lot of online shopping.
Some of my friends advised (and by far my Biggest concern) that broadband services that are provided by local cable operators are just infested with too many viruses and malwares that can easily be transmitted to the PC and ruin it. Is it true? I have never had a problem of viruses being transmitted to my PC through the BSNL connection.
I have a backup wireless broadband connection so occasional downtime won't affect me much, but I am seeking your opinion on the overall performance of these cable broadband services.
Kindly provide me your feedback on cable broadband and whether it would be a good call to choose one to replace BSNL
Thanks a lot!
