hey i m using fivenet 80kbps plan the prob. is whenever i download from a http link the speed goes up to 150kbps but when i download using a torrent client like ABC the max speed i get is 15kbps no matter how many seeders are connected.i know getting 150kbps from a 80kbps connection is unusual but is there a way i can increase my torrent client speed.Im frm mumbai wadala west.
 
u are downloading from private or public tracker.i have the same problem if i download from public tracker.
 
Can someone please explain this public and private tracker thing. I have an exatt 256 kbps connection and manage to get about 15 kbps average in night while the upload is at 50 kbps average. Other exatt users can share their experiences as well.
 
private tracker are the one that requires sign up like desitorrents etc. they tell u how much u have uploaded & downloaded and are consider much safe to use.But in my case they dont affect my speed much.
 
i get high speeds at private trackers like imtorrents.com as it is necessary to seed hence the users downloading can get a high speed.at public trackers, like link-removed.com,it is not necessary to seed or to maintain a good ratio hence , many users cap their upload speed hence u may get low download speeds.
 

try to make upload speed high.i get high download speed when my upload speed is high.please try and post the result
 
i dont know then. u can try to change the torrent client to utorrent.it can be found at utorrent.com.i have been using it for a year or so.never faced problems with speed
