HTC has a press event during same time. Coincidence or Ubuntu Tablet made by HTC?

This is big news.Till now, Ubuntu was trying to get a foot hold with manufacturers, and was only partially successful.HTC is a big (and respectable) name and if Ubuntu can provide a good interface, then nothing like it.I hope the Unity concept can be taken further and can prove to be as successful as Android. Also hoping they include support for docking and OTG to resemble functions of a standalone PC. If so, it can become a sure dealmaker.

lol. htc is going to launch htc one. and they have messed up this launch too. just like one x last year, this launch is way too close to the launch of samsung Galaxy s iv... ubuntu on the other hand would probably talk about customized builds for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. or maybe even microsoft surface pro. htc has failed in tablets. they are struggling in smartphones. if they cannot sell android tablets, what chance do they have with ubuntu tablets. heh.

it does. but it is rather awkward implementation. ubuntu seems to have done an excellent job at user interface implementation. the big question is how smooth it would be on real world devices. and i am not even talking about apps right now. 🙂

And android mutli user support is fixed for tablets for now ..no word abt mobiles. Ubuntu certainly looks good but it all boils down to real world experience as you said ..and apps availabilityBut a lot of app developers are showing interest in ubuntu than they have shown for blackberry or W8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XkyYKqKUYXAlooks good. laggy has hell in some areas. but still. very good effort.

Nexus 7:
Runs in portrait mode by default. (no side stage)
Camera, video decoding and audio output do not function.
Greeter screen is misaligned.
No multi-user login.

I guess its because of nvidia's crappy drivers. Will wait for the next version.

Was kinda disappointed that I wouldn't be able to try this out (due to it being available only for nexus devices.) Thread reminded that I actually do have a nexus 7 😛
