Thinking to buy a DishTV SD Recorder. They say its just 1000 for existing customers. Anyway, is there any alternative? I'm also looking for a alternative DTH.Also, share your experience of the recorder. I'm exhausted of changing channels with 3 digit numbers, and with the blank channels in between. I hope the recorder box will have a good conditioned Favorites option, because the current favorites in traditional old STB disappear when rebooted and also there are some problems using it.

It's been 2 days, haven't received the box yet. They guy on phone said that it will be delivered today, was waiting whole day. Going to cancel the request if it's not delivered tomorrow.

You're right, i just check the d2h site, they are providing better base packs at much lesser costs. Will keep this in mind, might shift to d2h anytime, since the base packs of DishTV always provide unwanted channels.
 
i see, Till now i've had a satisfactory support from Dishtv CC. Never to forget, sometimes the CC guys wont speak proper English. As far as service is concerned, i'm slightly against them because of:
1) the bad base packs & improper pricing of ala-carte packs
2) the blank channels in between annoy me.
3) 303 signal not found. (sometimes)
Thinking to move to d2h, been with dishtv from past 7 years!
 
got the Dish true+ SD Recorder box today. It's remote as long as iPhone 10, and i felt a lot of heat dissipated when i touched the box. Box is small, and does not display channel number. Will post the review once i start using it. The channels are not activated still, waiting from 3 hrs.

I won't agree with this one. The picture quality might be better on d2h or Tata Sky, but I've had good experience with their after sales till date. Once I was facing an issue with my package, so I sent an Email to their CEO. He himself replied to me with a CC to his team and the issue was resolved within an hour. 🙂
 
Is dish+ recorder for SD capable of playing mp3, mp4, flv videos, loaded on the USB drive from laptops ? Or does it only allow replaying what is recorder through the dish+ recorder ? Pls reply. Thanks

not capable of playing anything which is not recorded using the recorder.
 
Not worth buying, pendrive have very less life if you use them with these recorders.
 
Guys,
I have a dish TV connection and I am thinking of upgrading to Dish+. But, when I enquired, the CC guys said that it will cost 999 Rs for the upgrade and they won't be proving a Hard Disk and that we will have to bear the cost of it.
I basically want it for my mother who wishes to record the serials she will not be able to watch.
What I want to know is this. Does anyone know how many GBs of the hard disk would be required to record couple of 30 mins serials over a weeks time in Dish+ ? I am thinking of getting a 64GB pen drive. Is it enough ?
