...TATA have their own "Gateways" but they don't have any presence in international bandwidth market nor do they have Level 1 or 2 or 3 peering status.
[/b]

Dont know abt peering status of tata but they do have intl presence thru tyco global networks and teleglobe.

With MTNL, you get full speed even for a single TCP connection. Only control is through ADSL line limits. If someone syncs you at 1 mbps, you will get that speed.

I have 512 kbps line from MTNL single TCP stream speeds max out at about 300-315 kbps

hmm...well, he wasn't joking. As Netfreak pointed out, they definitely are in a bandwidth challenged category. MTNL doesn't own any international cables to be in a position to give out unlimited tariffs especially as they know how Mumbai subscribers will download endlessly. Me being the first of them 😛Anyway, I thought I would let you know what I came to know. This should put an end to those fools who post something like - "MTNL Unlimited coming out this november!!!1111111". R******! They were playing us all along! I mean this is some realistic info that I got from MTNL. I guess we know now for sure that we aren't getting any unlimited plans so soon! 😛BTW I still AM WAITING for my TriBand connection! Its been OVER 1 MONTH NOW! 🙁 Not that it matters much as I am busy with my exams and all but still. If it was vacation time then this would've sucked big time 😛I am hopeful that Reliance will now start its broadband services AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. I can see their cabling job being almost completed in my area. I dunno if Airtel will ever show up.This sucks big time 🙁

I hope, Broadband market becomes big enough for Reliance to kick in. They already have undergroung chanels for electricity wires, it wont cost too much to use the same channels for broadband.

powersurfer is owned by reliance isnt it?!! so that means reliance is already in.
but as per their website logo... its mukesh ambani reliance and
reliance comm is anil ambani reliance.

i am not sure, but i thought both bros had deal not to enter each others industry.

par kabtak?! koi ek dhoka na de tabtak! 😉
