Thundered by Reliance Broadband: A Horror Story..

I have been subscribed to the Reliance Broadband Since last two months and after jumping ship from MTNL and before that from Airtel..
I thought dealing with any private player would be a cakewalk after dealing with MTNL.. but I was wrong very much.

I have had the Reliance BB connection since 27 October.. I started with their Thunder 1099 – 4 Mbps plan… The connection worked fine more or less and I had accepted the fact that my connection would work for 4-5 days a week. The DSL light would blink on late Friday or Saturday and would remain same until Monday morning.. I reconciled thinking that it may be a temporary thing.. However seeing the erratic connection I downgraded the connection to 2 Mbps -699 plan thinking that would be sufficient for me..

I was managing with this erratic connection until I noticed on first week of December that by Download speed would never exceed 0.7 Mbps in a 2 Mbps connection.. on checking the stats I found out that the “Downstream Line rate” was set at 1024kbps. . I had to constantly call them and emailed them for 4-5 days until they reset my profile on 12th Dec..

However the joy was very short lived for less them a day as the DSL light became unstable (blinking) the very next day on 13th December..I called them everyday 2-3 times and the call center guy would just say that my complaint status was showing “solving”.. after 3-4 days the local reliance technician told me that the DLC Card (I think) needs replacement.. for next 3-4 days they (call center) kept on telling with that they are replacing the Card on that day…. The local Reliance Technician would not pick up my phone…

Three days back I got a call from their local technician that they have changed the card and now I should check my connection..On Checking the internet worked for just 15-20 minutes and then I lost the net connection and the DSL light started blinking again.. again I lodged the complain .. ang dagin the horror story repeated for 2-3 days and again I got the call from the tech yesterday that they have fixed the problem..

However again the net connection worked for just 1-2 hours and the DSL light became unstable again…Neither the local technician nor the server people would pick up my call.. I have called the call center people number of time and each time they tell me that my complaint shows solving status..

I have even called the customer service 2-3 times for disconnection but they would not disconnect me either.. I am frustrated and tired.. I do not have any internet connection in my home since 13th December.. They do not rectify the problem nor would they allow me to discontinue their service..

I deeply regret for parting ways with the Airtel ... I have learnt my lessons and I have been thundered by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani

If any Anil Ambani people is reading this .. please restore or let me out..
 
Questions for you:1) Have you called 1860-200-2011? It's the RCOM appellate office.2) Have you Emailed anil dot ambani at relianceada dot com? Self explanatory Email ID.

Oh! So sad to hear that. Infact i thought you were happy with reliance when i checked last with you.
I was so motivated to apply for reliance after your experience but having requested for a new connection on 15th of last month and no response from them, made me to not pursue any further. Now going through your harrowing experience i think its better off staying away with them.. I am happy with my mtnl freedom combo 800 plan. Guess you should also get that with direct wiring from the
Pole to modem
 
Welcome to pathetic " D " grade service by reliance .. I too have undergone mental stress with them 1.6 years back and you can check my thread if you have the time .. Reliance can come out with the most appealing plans which no one might beable to beat but their customer service is PATHETIC !!
 
after hearing your story i will not get reliance now though i m thinking reliance after you confirmation of "good service"
 
Well this is more or less expected considering the bad reputation Reliance has. Because of the same reason I didn't move to Reliance no matter how tempting their plans were.I don't have much experience with Reliance if any but I think you need to talk to higher authorities. You can always use the 'dragging to the consumer court' method with them.

Man ur not only alone. Even I am also facing line stability issue. Complains keep just closing after 2 days and yesterday they called n gave me a rubbish reason.
 
We belong to a minority(unlucky) group. Never bother, let the rest of INDIANS enjoy their plans. If they start their operations at my place again i'm ready to "Welcome them with open arms". I miss RELIANCE BB.:depressed:

Last evening when I came home I was again online and the DSL light was stable..

Going through this thread I read iChaitanya's post and emailed my above post ditto plus some of the complaint numbers to the email address "anil dot ambani at relianceada dot com"

I did not expect much after that..however I received a call from his office about an hour back.. I had not provided them with the contact number so the person must have checked my user profile.. I repeated my story and the person on the line promised to convey to the business team in Bombay about the sorry state of RCOM people here and he also promised to insure that I have a proper connection henceforth..He also promised wavier for the unused period..

I had also emailed the link to this thread and I asked the person to go through this thread and forum to find out the opinion/impression people have about them..

so lets see how things turn out.. once again thanks to iChaitanya's..

BTW:Net was working fine until this morning..
 
Problem with Reliance is that there network management is outsourced. When I had Reliance BB 2 years back the local cable guy used to manage Reliance, Sify, Tata, Railwire and of course his own cable Internet. With so many connections to manage it becomes tough for them as well.

Internet is working fine since the ADA guy intervened.I got a call from him today saying that a waiver of Rs.288.10/- has been credited in my account. 😱

Problem with Reliance is that there network management is outsourced. When I had Reliance BB 2 years back the local cable guy used to manage Reliance, Sify, Tata, Railwire and of course his own cable Internet. With so many connections to manage it becomes tough for them as well.

It's not "tough", the local guys to whom reliance outsources their work simply do not care! Most of these guys got the contract from Reliance by bidding as low as possible and they simply do not have the money, technical competence or desire to maintain a good network. They know as long as they charge less for their services (provided to Reliance, not to customer), the company will not take any action (aka hire someone else).
