Landline phone not working on Airtel Broadband connection

Hi Everyone,For the last few years that I have used airtel, I have never used a fixed line connection since there wasnt much use for it. But with the new Airtel 4mbps plan, there are a 1000 local minutes included in the connection which I dont want to forgo.So I bought a basic Beetle landline phone and connected it to the internet phone line but there was no dial tone. I confirmed with the shopkeeper and the instrument works fine. It just doesnt work on my Airtel connection though:frown_2:I tried connecting the instrument both through the ADSL splitter and directly but still no dial tone. Any reason why it could be happening?

could be anything. call airtel guys to check the line and splitter.
