Seriously i'l say we all give gallis to sify.. but still use the same. 😛

CTO'S shud b kicked out from all over.they r putting extra money in their pockets.third class services by them.n they tell sify is bad.sify is worst to some extent by their CC support.my ass cto charges Rs485 for 64kpbs sify pack.while others cto's in our area take Rs460.chor saala home cable.

and whose plan was it to appoint these CTOs? u just cannot blame the lower authorities. it was sify's decision to rely on pathetic franchisee route with no control over their functioning.

Actually I think I know one of the reasons why the CTO idea is better than direct service. This is not a general case but AFAIK Sify service before this incident was direct without CTO intervention.

I had first signed up for my Sify service around 3.5 years ago and I got a direct connection from them. Almost a month or so after that I got a call from my CTO saying that they have started distributing their own internet service (Hathway) and that we should (must) switch over. We were 7 in all using sify in our locality. We obviously refused as we had paid a hefty 3000 INR installation charge, which no one was gonna refund. What followed was quite ugly. We had everything from cut cable connections to death threats and blamefests after that. Ind the end I think there was some "under the table" agreement end where Sify ended up paying some "hafta" to these guys. After that I have never heard of Sify going independently into an area.

Now after shifting to my new place 2 years back, I was surprised to find Sify, this time through a CTO (who, I have to admit, is an awesome guy -- lucky me I guess 🙂 ).

And yeah, surprisingly, after the storm last week, Sify was up in a very short time while Hathway guys in my area took till tonight to fix their connectivity. So kudos to them for that 🙂

But for all good purposes, it seems as if Triband is taking the cake for one of the better BB services in India. Dunno much about airtel and bsnl as I don't know people using them.

For me, Sify is ok.its just a backup connection.when my 512k triband is down 😛 or when i need u/l downloading.tho if only they had given 256k upload on the complete u/l plan i wud be happier.back to 256k night plan.sify is hardly down for me.good speeds.price ok.

my airtel is more stable than😛ower supplieswater suppliesmy computer's OScome rain or storm, airtel works fine. everything else go haywire.

MTNL is also the same..even during July26 rains it was working like a treat..

well, in the last 13 months, MTNL servers were down just for once, and that was the only time when i faced problems with MTNL...now can u beat that???!!! 😀

buddy_79, they have been down quite a few times in the last 12 months that i have used it..but certainly nothing alarming..no huge downtimes like sify or other Cat5 operators. Maximum downtime has lasted abt 7 hrs if i remember correctly with small ones lasting between 15 mins & 2 hrs

@Muttster:You have TriBand PLUS Mtnl DSL 599 PLUS Sify 256k PLUS Tata 256k u/l???How much bandwidth does a guy need??? lol!!!And how much are you paying monthy for all the services combined?
