and maybe the reaon for it is TRAI have cut international bandwidth rates, with all due respect to sushubh and all other frustrated users...i think SIFY is not bad...... as of now.

Sify is characterized by one overebearing feature for me-- network downtime. This downtime occurs when it rains, after a power outage and when it's time to renew the monthly pack.It also occurs when the network malfunctions apart from the above regular outages.Public sector phone companies give better uptimes. And guess why 90 % of the downtime occurs? Because of those @#!*$% Sify franchisees. Sify's distribution model needs urgent review.

yea.. downtime is a problem dat needs to be sorted out.. it happens frequently and hardly takes two mins to fix.. whenever i call up da sify ppl they come and fix it in like two mins.. next time me gonna watch what they do and do it myself wheneva i get downtime... cause they certainly don't lok like rocket scientists to me 😛

Boy, you're lucky you get attended in 2 minutes 😉. Whenever I face a downtime and call the CTO up, I get attended to after a whole 24 hours, unless I keep on calling them after every half an hour which is such a headache . And even after that 24 hours I have to call up and bark at them that why the f*** are you sitting on my complaint for 24 hrs and then they send someone.

Sify does not provide Broadband service. Speeds less than 256k are not broadband. Death to sify.

48kbps = 6 KBps but still 2 KBps on broadband is ridiculous.....

I get 11 to 13 KBps on my 48 kbps pack 🙂

I too put not bad in pollThey have improved a bit from what they were a year back, aleast for me.Still there are a lot of things, sify needs to improve upon.Maybe further competition will bring senses to them. And yes they are a bit hard at listening. Unless you shout at them, no one will listen you. Better be harsh.

Improved, improved from what? care to enlighten me, from which angle does sify look good to you, I think I am wrong I should start looking at Sify in that way. No offense please, I just am really pissed after my 15 days of downtime arghhh and my soaring DialUp bills for next month

Freedom from Sify - Ishifted from the"True power of the Internet (sic)" to BSNL - freedom from the dratted CTO's and customer care etc. Someone phoned me telling it is time for renewal and I took extreme pleasure in telling that I do not want to do so. In fact the hub placed near my house serving the eople in my area has been removed as the hub hoster also shifted from Sify. I now have BSNL and it does really zoom. Best thing it doesnt stop when it rains. The one time there was a down time it was because the international seabed cable had got cut but was rectified pretty fast (compared to my holleringon the phone forever to get the CTO to repair it. In fact my phone bill has come down drastically as I used to spend mor than a dial up to get the blessed CTIO /customercare to solve my problem !! I have a 256 kpbs connection now with bsnl AND IT IS AN ASSURED MINIMUM SPEED so generally downloads really max out.I hate to change ISP's in fact I was a dial up member form the Satyam.net.in days but I finally got out as Sify was just too stressful !!!!!! I really thank Mr Dhayanidhi Maran for ensuring good service from BSNL Data One. Thias is one good thing that has visibly changed my impressin of BSNL.Dr Prasanna Simha m

sify is quite good IMO or rather my experience only thing sux is the freaking 150mb dlload limit
