Seriously? I would talk to some official from Vodafone tomorrow then, to see if they give the same excuse/reason!

They wont be as blunt as i was, but they will still wrap that thing under cotton & give u the same message. 😛 U may try it out.

Ask a US Citizen about the importance of Email Address, and they would tell you.

I thought we lived in India? 😛

As a matter of fact, use an email address for more than 5 years [Your Primary Email Address], you might understand the exact importance of it.

My current email id is as old as the year that it spells out. So u can count the number of years i have been using it.

Only problem in India is that, a crime has to happen in order for the Government to wake up.

We are living in India, but we are getting to a level where our Lifestyle would be no different than them.

Sucky thing would be, fractured Constitutional system that would not be able to protect citizens the way they do.

...and it's more than apparent right now.

You know what I mean?

P.S

Do you have your bank statements, credit card bills, UIDAI number associated with that email address of yours?

I thought i said the same thing, in 1 line, in a bit more decent language, in a different thread! 😛

So, telecom companies are free to sell your identity to anyone? No restrictions on that?

We are addressing an issue here, I am aware of the alternatives and workarounds.

I don't think telephone company will sell your identity. Instead read at few places that Facebook is sharing our profile details with advertisers.

Bro, didn't you read that even Telecom Minister kapil sibbal is fade up of spam messages and rajiv kullar has promised to have some solution by Nov 5.

So, if require keep TRAI in loop too.

In that case, it could be the dealers as well who sell us the numbers. How hard would it be for them to make databases out of our information we provided as verification proof.

Yes dealers and distributors could be the one. They have collection of huge databases and their are many buyers in market for such data. You could be victim of one such stupid dealer

Its the employees that work in offices who sell the databases of these companies. Managers know about them but they just keep quiet and take their commission. knew a guy who works/worked for Docomo.

No I don't think any manager level employees would show interest for such activity bcoz sharing company internal data comes under employee code of conduct and if found that guy is supposed not only to be fired but blacklisted too with global recruitment agencies.

But there are many such corrupt low level employees who do such things.

Managers know abt this but they don't usually take action and some managers even take a cut. once the numbers are out, there's virtually no way of finding who leaked them.

No idea abt Docomo but there are many companies which don't allow pen drive and track all outgoing mails. So no one dares to make such move. But some companies share data with their franchise. From there it can be easily leaked and absolutely no one can track them.
