hi friends,

would someone (i.e. a TataIndicom Broadband over ADSL subscriber) in Bangalore (preferably BTM Layout or HSR Layout areas) please share the WAN / ADSL settings in their router ? the information i need are:-

Remeber, this is not the TCP/IP config of PC, but the WAN config of Router:

Static-IP =
Netmask =
Gateway-IP =
DNS-server-1 =
DNS-server-2 =

Also, we need to provide the username & password, right ? (I have something like: username@eth.net).
The modulation will be ADSL G.Lite (Annex A) , correct ?
and PVC0 configuration is (1,32), PPPoE, with user-name + password and static-IP ? (or should it be dynamic-IP) ?

thanks,
falcon74

Okay, figured this one out.

the connection type is PPPoE indeed, and had to select Static-IP option. I'd managed to get the Gateway IP & netmask (Gateway being ".1" in the same subnet as my static-IP). The modulation with G.LITE + Annex_A. Had to configure User-Selected-DNS etc., and it started working.

Okie Guys,For TATA BB uses in bangalore , this is how Netgear will work for you.As mentioned earlier by few boarders, you have to use your router as hub and not as as wi fi router.Put the lan out from TATA modem to another LAN in in Netgear.Go to wireless settings, enable basic security settings. Save it.Now Put automatic discovery of IP but manual DNS in the network settings of wireless connection. You are all set. I spent some 2 days getting it work and some really funny responses from tata technical team.I wonder if they ahve any technical team or just a bunch of school kids.Any specific questions, post here. i will try to answer.
