guys i want to know does bsnl monitors websites or they have the power to monitor which websites a user visits or which files they download like 24online?

Talking of being capable to monitor users activity, yes BSNL is all capable to do that. But they wouldn't do it unless a legal organization approached them with proper orders from court.

^ well ! BSNL has nothing to do with what you have
visited / downloaded thru Dataone connection . BSNL
cannot charge extra money for that . And BSNL has
no interest in monitoring individual users .

If police / CBI / etc... approach BSNL to enquire
about any particular user then BSNL has full rights
to monitor and help them ...

BSNL does monitor on regular basis , but they usualy dont care. But they have full log of what u are doing, the websites u visited, the date and such

ok then i will download movies another thing does the local exchange broadband employees monitor or the central office employees monitor those stuffs?because my local exchange officers are angry with me because i complained about their laziness to the central office

maybe you can stop downloading illegal content from the internet if you think you have the right to complain about the laziness of the bsnl officials.

I think they can only track the IP address to which we are connecting, and not the exact sites we browse. And also, this will be monitored only if an investigating agency asks for it.kgmprasad garu, do you have anything to add?

they could get or might already have the technology to monitor each user's individual usage. the point is why would they bother to monitor when they won't have any good reason to do so. if a law agency requires them to do so, they would have to go ahead with such monitoring.

Its okay buddy, there is no need to worry about. Only if there is a complaint is raised from some anti piracy squad, like someone said before, they'll come after the person. And beleive me your exchange people don't have the controls to monitor what you are doing with your connection. This sorts of things can only be monitored from the main servers.And you can see that many people download from link-removed and if they find any illegal file then they delete it and they don't go after the people who downloaded that particular file. There are millions of people downloading stuffs from link-removed and other file hosting sites. So there is no need to worry about I guess. But still, yes they can monitor anyone if there is a need.

that's right.. and it would take a lot more than downloading "hot videos" or pirated sh*t to convince the bsnl officials to let them spy on a user lol just dont go stalking somebody on the internet or pull some crazy stunts like that and you should be fine 😛
