Thats the problem of big cities, if you loose cool you dont know to whom you are messing around. In small cities you can easily find out who that idiot is.

thats the best i can think of in ur situation @gaurang.

Divert all incoming calls to your mobile no and record his calls .

I generally maintain my cool but yesterday i just lost it .. i think ill be more careful with these tele marketers in future ... the worrying part is that these guys have all our info like telephone number , address etc .. not that im scared that they will reach my house let them if they want to ill teach them a lesson if they go that far .. but no use taking " panga " with anyone .. lesson learnt !! Its so sad our country has no fight back against such rogues .. imagine mtnl tells me they cant do anything .. SHAME !!

@ gaurang see if you think logically mtnl has nothing to do with what conversation going on between two people.. Though in case of dnd activated line they are bound to take action against TM, but that was not activated in your line. Anyway... This tense moment will gradually fed away from your mind so just relax and dont get hyper in such situation. 🙂

Well actually Vodafone CC said me this for https://broadband.forum/national-customer-call-preference-registry/77668-calls-hdfc-agents-personal-loans.html
They also told me to install app which could block specific number (which I was already doing). But since your is landline, even that may not help.

BTW even HDFC said that numbers which I mentioned are not their, and they are not sure which agents are calling me from these numbers as they have not authorised anybody to make marketing calls. They also suggested me to file police complaint for these numbers. But I dont have that much time to follow up with police, and beside what to tell police? that some unknown girls are calling me for Personal loans and Credit Cards.

I have a simple way around this.. I have an app installed in my phone which only allows nos from phonebook only. Rest are automatically disconnected. Those who need to get in touch with me desperately know how to. And fwiw, don't offer your landline nos to banks etc. Only mention mobile nos. Put all your landline Nos in DND as well.I get full peace of mind. If the phone rings it means the call is important!

Dont worry much about it. Stop responding to the lifeless idiot and hangup the phone as soon as you realize it's from him only (should be easy if u have caller id). He'll get bored and leave you alone soon enough. I've lost my cool many a times with these idiots. They can't do anything. I engage with them as long as I feel like it and then I just start hanging up before they even have a chance to say a single word. This would be the easiest solution. If it doesn't work then ofcourse you should lodge an official complaint with the company this guy belongs to and contact the police too. Don't worry about them having a recording of you. They called and disturbed you first. You have every right to say whatever the f u want. If they didn't want to listen to you, they shouldn't have called in the first place. I actually like it when telemarketeers call me up. It's a free pass for pranks. I can abuse them, put them on hold after saying I'm interested, ask them stupid questions (all assuming I'm free at the time). It's a fun little distraction for me 😛

i always respectfully answers "I am now 68 yrs, how can i help you", other side always respectfully says "Oh sorry Sir".........:joyous:

That reminds me of another prank I pulled 5-6 years ago. Got a call repeatedly for personal loan over 3-4 days. I was bored (rather than irritated), so instead of saying not interested again - I said - Yes, I am interested, but will your bank give a loan of 10 lakhs. He said sure it is possible, and next he asked what is my monthly income - I replied 5000.. I heard a prompt click at the other end immediately 😉

i think these days tele marketeer are more aggressive and would start abusing you for expecting 10 lac laon on 5k pm income:rofl:

Well.. Unless you dont get into a fight, I dont see the person abusing. He is the one calling me again & again. He knows now its a no go. Still if he wants to waste my time, I am quite capable of dragging it into a long conversation without any abuse. In this case, I would have pleasantly said I refused 2-3 times because I knew I was unlikely to get it, but since you insisted I thought of asking 😀
