The Hindu : States / Kerala : Bachelor Party on the Net lands many in police net

In what is billed as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, the anti-piracy cell of the Kerala Police has registered cases against 1,010 persons for illegally uploading or downloading on the Internet the Malayalam movie Bachelor Party.

This includes a Keralite engineering student based in Vaashi, Navi Mumbai, and the Coimbatore-based website Tamil Rockers, a press note issued here on Saturday by the anti-piracy cell said.

Over the last 10 days, 30,000 persons were found to have seen Bachelor Party illegally on the Net. The IP addresses of 1,010 persons have already been identified. The anti-piracy cell, the hi-tech cell, and Jadoo Tech Private Solutions — a Kochi-based private firm which did the cyber patrolling for the police — have initiated steps to collect the names and addresses of the persons whose IP addresses have been traced.

Also to quote the first comment from there , coz its totally worth it :

When politicians loot a lot of money in the form of scams, nothing will
be done. But when people see a movie on the internet, first-of-its-kind
initiatives will always be done. What an amazing system!

Holy shit!

Director of this movie Amal Neerad plagarized a korean movie Exiled for his movie Bachelor Party .
His previous flicks Big B, Anwarare the exact copy of hollywood flicks Traitorand Four Brothers.
I think he's fed up of the internet revolution. Now the guys are so fast to find out the movies which are copied from 😀
So what do you guys think ?
Who is the real pirate ?

internet is giving headaches(some are real others are just to be in control) to a lot of institutions including governments , ppl talk shit about them on the net so it has to be stopped by some way, all kind of censorship is on the cards because of all kinds of parties ,who are getting affected, in near future. for this cause all kinds of tactics will be used including false flag operations of all kind, 1 example is the ASSAM issue some days back in India , its just like creating terror in the minds of ppl by fake terrorism activities. be informed.and protest as hard you can:Storyteller:

The Hollywood guys whose movies Amal Neerad plagiarised (if he did ie) have a legal remedy. They haven't exercised it. Amal Neerad also has a legal remedy (to prevent piracy of his work) and he chose to exercise it. Pretty ordinary course of legal justice.

this is the reason i turned on my VPN whenever i boot up my torrent client. shit is going to happen and vpn is the only safe way out. unless of course airtel etc. starts blocking vpns as well.

or unless, even vpn is compromised??

and how can a VPN be compromised? used a service hosted in sweden where data privacy laws are very strong. i use ipredator. they do not keep user logs. complete privacy. i was earlier using hidemyass but they have to keep logs as they are based in usa. stopped using them.

So to answer the question: Can a Virtual Private Network be penetrated? Just like any security implementation, the answer is yes. Just like a bank with a sophisticated security system can be robbed, so can a secure Virtual Private Network. If a group of hackers is bent on penetrating your system, they are likely to be successful if they spend enough time and resources on it. But then, why would a group of very skilled hackers be so bent on hacking into your connection?

seriously? you expect our government to 'hack' VPN client servers and install a monitoring agent there? what i am saying is that our ISP cannot monitor our activities in a vpn session. our government cannot monitor it as well. it is an encrypted channel which is completely private.

the vpn service i use is from the people running the pirate bay. i can safely say that they take user privacy seriously than most other companies.

if you want complete privacy on the internet, the only safe way is to disconnect your computer from the internet and shut it down. that is probably the only way government cannot compromise your online activities. (of course, they can invent it for you in case they really want to get you)

well it is also possible for government to come to your house with a search warrant and take away your computers in the name of national security. i guess it is time to encrypt your local hard drives as well. but yeah, what is the point... even that can be broken using supercomputers running for months and years if not days.
