Right. Gurgaon to NH24 till Noida should take about 45 - 50 minutes driving @ 60 on a weekend.

ganga is out of the question. not supposed for hair. would have to look something on the yamuna itself. 🙂

There is a ghat near Kashmiri gate ISBT. A lot of people go there for such ceremonies. Following is the location on wikimapia:

Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!

Do note that Nigambodh Ghat Cremation ground is about 0.5 KM upstream from this location but still a lot of people come here for religious ceremonies. As far as taking a dip in river water, it is not at all recommended because water is so dirty.

If you are coming from Kashmiri gate ISBT on the ring road and traveling towards Red Fort, then on your left hand side there will be Nigam Bodh Ghat cremation ground. After that take left turn from the first cut and go straight for about 100 meters, then take right turn from dead end. Park your car right there. Climb the wall that separates ghats from road using staircase and river will be in front of you along with many small temples on river bank. You can even hire a boat for 20-50 rupees and go for a short ride in the river.

righto. this is the place i was told close to nigambodh ghat. thanks for the details! 😀

just came back from delhi. never managed to reach the spot mentioned above. took a wrong turn ended up near the lohe wala pull. found a place where you could reach the yamuna. sadly, while parking i did not see this huge rock and bang my car on to that. first such incident in three years of ownership. long scratch. pretty angry with myself right now :cursing: . but i guess the work was done so it's all good.

not sure. i was to take the flyover near the hanuman mandir i believe. i did not take it. there was no way to go ahead from under it. so had to take a u-turn. shit happened after that.

did that. but it does not really tell you if going under the pull would send you to a mess of internal roads around yamuna 🙂

If coming from ISBT and going towards Red Fort, you should have taken the left turn just a few meters before the flyover that is right next to Hanuman Mandir.

man do ppl living in NCR no longer just explore the city. ok the best and most clear 'ghat' for yamuna is right in between nodia and delhi. directions , hit Apollo on mathura road, turn left into okhla, [ there used to be picnic spot also there can't t remember the name] follow that road you will come to bridge that used to be called old okahla bride which is now the border for nodia , cross that 100 meters for so after crossing the bridge TURN left into a small road [ keep a lookout for it , it's tiny turn and a small road ] yamuna in it's most clean form flows by that road, you can just stop the car and get in . i have not been on that road in like 10 yrs or more but it is a lovely drive plus there used to be huge tree on the bank where i could just park by the river and make out with my gf😛 there are 3 or 4 ways to go about there from delhi side the one above is most easy if coming down from gourgon. and if you are looking or place where ppl make ceremonies or so that is on the other side of the river, you can get there from by cutting into Jamima univ road and following a small dirt road right into a fisherman kinda village there is huge river bank where i have seen ppl come for religious stuff. srly this generation needs to get out MOARRRRR 😛
