Hoping they'll support more devices soon, especially Motorola Defy/Defy+ 😛

If Motorola wanted defy to reach gingerbread/ICS/Jelly beans/ they would have never launched defy+I am using Motorola defy and now I am sure it is only if I buy a new Sony/HTC/Samsung, then only I can get unlocked boot loader !

doesn't the defy already have so much development? What would an unlocked bootloader accomplish?

Yup. The development is good no doubt. But as per developers there are some problems which can only be fixed by modding the kernel like the data connectivity bug, better graphics performance and many kernel level tweaks which can improve the performance.

Oh OK. I was actually interested in getting an Atrix HD. Was getting it for 20k from USA but didn't buy it because of their bootloader policy.

The main problem with defy for having a unlocked bootloader is the camera driver.
There are two types of camera chips used in defy (Red & green) .
defy+ uses red lens
In tecnical terms the chips are from Bayer & SOC which makes defy unusable in ICS/GB/JB unless you use the patched driver with some skills
