i get really frustrated by seeing the government and ISPs investing crores of rupees on developing rural internet, i mean no village people are interested in broadband, they are happy with their farming and village life, why the government are spoiling village people, they need to invest more first on increasing urban broadband speeds and provide true and better broadband speeds to indian urban educated sector people, village people are not interested in technology, india ranks among the last countries with the slowest internet speeds in the world competing with african nations, i get really bugged up by the crap internet speeds in india, when will india progress, grrrrrrrrrrr, i am feeling like banging my computer with the shitty internet speeds in india.🙁

Internet in rural India is about empowerment, and not catering to a user-driven need for services or entertainment. Just like how even urban users didn't 'need' the internet a decade ago. But as various services and opportunities were made available online, it has become close to indispensable for many; eventually the same will become true for the net in rural areas.

GPRS and CDMA 1X is more than enough for villages and villagers...Do waqt ki roti nahi naseeb hota aur broadband ??

I'm from a rural area. AFAIK broadband penetration is too good in my area(Credit goes to BSNL). 6 out of 10 people from my neighbours are subscribers of DataOne.
No private ISPs will provide a broadband connection in a village. So BSNL should concentrate on villages for quality broadband services. Please understand that there are lot of techies in farmers too. They have children educating. Nowadays internet helps a lot for education. Don't you think that education should be equal for rural and urban people. That's the reason govt. is targeting villages where private ISPs fails.

I would say that if the village perishes India will perish too. India will be no more India. Her own mission in the world will get lost. The revival of the village is possible only when it is no more exploited. Industrialization on a mass scale will necessarily lead to passive or active exploitation of the villagers as the problems of competition and marketing come in. Therefore we have to concentrate on the village being self-contained, manufacturing mainly for use. Provided this character of the village industry is maintained, there would be no objection to villagers using even the modern machines and tools that they can make and can afford to use. Only they should not be used as a means of exploitation of others. - M. K. Gandhi

ok i know speed is the second thing but atleast they can provide good internet speeds for the urban educated people who sit in front of computer all day and night long as myself, i need more higher speeds, i am a hardcore net speed freak, villages just need internet for checking agicultural prices so a mere 256Kbps internet could do well to them but we as a young indian urban youth need more speed do download games, softwares etc and watch HD videos, we as a young urbaner need faster internet speeds, that's it nothing else.

There are many reasons my friend.I myself live in a rural area just outskirts of Bangalore by a few kilometers.I badly require broadband as my connection sucks. As how education is a fundamental human right, good internet should be too and I am happy the government is forcing this down the ISP's neck 😛.Many government things like pan card, caste certificate, ration card are all being made with the help of internet well at least in my region. They have a server within the city and info is filled up in an online sheet and is transferred to that server and the required things are generated.Farmers too will need internet for their goods sale mate. They are ripped off by many wholesalers and we the consumers are again ripped off by the wholesalers, retailers. You may say this is in all businesses but farmers getting ripped off is a serious issue maybe the government's plan is with internet a farmer may learn the actual rates, better ways to improve his crop outcome, etc. Also I believe it is done so people don't get congested within the city and move out too as their required facilities would be in a village so why wouldn't they move out?One last thing is why are you so biased/pissed with rural ppl getting bb?It doesn't affect you as ISP would prioritize giving connections within city first in most cases.

coming to the point i was bugged up and pissed off before few days, but recently i got a new hathway 5Mbps ul connection, now i am very very happy, i have downloaded and watched tons of content on the net, i am extremely satisfied with it, if all the people in urban and village india get a decent internet speeds we could see a revolution in india, everyone would be watching sunny leone on net hooked up on their screens.:mad-tongue:

Thread starter your a bit biased m8.Why can't rural ppl do the same? One is entitled to do whatever he pleases with his internet facilities.Shouldn't a rural person stream live London games on youtube to show his/her kids or he himself view it?Shouldn't he download movie torrents(I know it's illegal but still it is done)? Can't he download some of his favourite songs?

Would you do all these in a crappy 256 kbps connection? Why should he?

Ah lol leone's been in that business since ages. After coming to BigBoss and Jism2 she's got more publicized 😛

I agree with you Gogeta but what to do government people are too busy spending crores of rupees in swiss bank, women, alchohol and their own luxuries, village people are just dying day by day.

ah!! the village life is the best, cool fresh air, nature, animals and all the beautiful things in this world, i am just dreaming i will settle in village only and leave all the urban luxuries.😛

TBH village life is much better than urban sh1T lol.Better health as polluted air is less.Think of life in a whole new perspective when you move from urban to rural area 🙂

Ya Gogeta, village life is much better, i am from mysore living in mumbai and i feel my small town life was much better than this mumbai s***, lot of pollution congestion people, small houses, breathing problems etc, i am thinking of permanently settling in mysore or some village.

B'lore ain't that congested so maybe move there. Mysore's good too. Mumbai is so filled up lol. It's like ppl per sq km is very high.
